I have been looking on all the code sites for a way to make a link that will allow users to set the current page as their homepage. I already have a bookmark link in place but want to take it to the next level. Anyone have a clue?

Thanks!
Steve

Haiko, I said it before and must say it again, "You the man!"

Abestweb is one of the greatest resources available for webmasters PERIOD! And it's simply the people who make it happen!

Thanks again!

It works perfectly

What's so funny Lover? Come on give! We know you are holding out.

Alex, Yep I guess that's true. This one site keeps doing it to me but for the life of me I can't find the code on their pages.

Spent nearly 4 hours the other night, at this point I am ready to pay for the script if anyone has it.

Breeze,
Can you really afford the time to answer all the complaint e-mails you'll receive.

I've had complaints from people who click the make homepage link and are to dumb to realise what they have done. I was accused of having hidden codes which have taken over their computer and all sorts.

I got so miffed in the end I took the link out.

It got so bad I had a ready made template telling them how to reset the home page on IE.

I was looking for that code for a looooong time and never found it. I guess that code is not public.

What I think is that, this is an IE vulnerability or a backdoor of some kind and only people from inside M$ know it. Don't know if NS reacts to that code. This may be a starting point for you to look for it. I really don't know. I thought I had it once, but when I started looking for it, I couldn't find it. Maybe I just thought I had it. It sure is a cool code, but as Guffy said, you might get a lot of complaints for it. It did happen a couple of times to me that I had a bookmark that I didn't put there, and beleive me I was very mad about it.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>windows(98) has a built in bit that allows outsiders (basicaly any site) to manipulate, read and write to your registry, it's called REGWIZC.DLL (registry wizard control module), the good news is that you can turn it off<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Found this on a site, which I won't be naming as it promotes "bad things".

Maybe when they get complaints, they just say "you must of clicked on the link to make it your home page".
