Nathan,

All looks fine from my local except I do see the error.

Check your javas

Speaking of IE the latest version (6.0) sucks donkey!

Every now and then especially for popup windows I can't get scroll bars to work so there I am with half a page to read and no way of scrolling down.

Is there a setting to change or something?
If not how do you convert back to the last edition of IE?

Are you stupid?

Why would you want to change a persons home page with out their permission? You must not like repeat visitors. Maybe newbie internet surfers won't notice you screwed with their browsers but the experienced ones (the ones that buy stuff) will.

Yes your logo disappears when you do a search and you got some other problems. I would work on your business plan and then fix those errors.

"Are you stupid" Domino I don't like what you said to me! I proboly woudn't want someone to change my hompage, but look at it my way I own a search engine. Its not like a ad for VACCUUMS. Over 75% of internet users go to search engines daily! I just want some people to use mine. When I buy PopUp traffic it will send thier homepage to LookMonster.com, if people know how to change it they might change it but it is a good homepage. "MSN.com" did the same thing! Now it gets millions of searches daily! Why Cant I? Setting people's homepage is my edge for surpassing other engines. Also think that must people on the internet can't change thier homepage, even if they buy stuff.

Does anybody think that he is right or Im right, need input. Thanks

I think its like someone comes into my house and changes the TV channel while I'm watching. I think I wouldn't appreciate that. Would you?

First off, you're NOT MSN. But no, as an MSN user they have never reset my homepage. If they did I'd never use them again.

I think he's right. If I discovered that you reset my homepage I'd never go to your site again no matter WHAT you had to offer.

When you bought the computer and it had Microsoft installed it had MSN.COM as your homepage.

Nathan, you're comparing apples and oranges. Making uninvited changes to someone's home page is one of the most user-hostile things a site could do. It's not at all the same as MSN being on someone's computer when they buy it.

If that's what you'd like to achieve, a much better way would be to provide a link whereby visitors could CHOOSE to reset their home page.

Spend some time doing some detailed reading about website usability before you go much further.

Sorry Nathan. When I bought my last TV set, it was on channel 2 when I first turned it on. That has nothing to do with what is going on now or in the future.

Try comparing something else: How would you feel about having YOUR radio play MY favorite song every time you turned it on?

Giving them a choice is one thing, but doing it without asking is just rude. I never go back to site that do that if I can help it.

Yes I was rude, but it was necessary to wake you up to the truth. If I didn't like you I would have said "looks good don't change a thing", and watch you fail. Instead I am trying to make you realize what a big mistake you are making.

If you want to get traffic to your site you have to start networking with other sites or just buy the traffic. I prefer to networking. I still get hits to my site from Google because people are looking for Coupons and I have a link to the Coupon GuyI can't count how many hits I get because I have a link to the Mister Taliban my Banana song on Madblast.com.

If you were walking down the street with your fly open you would want to be told about it wouldn't you?

If you knew I was changing homepages why did you go??????? I DO NOT LIKE WHAT YOU SAID AGIAN! "That little prick" and "your fly is open,". I think you guys should say "sorry", second I changed my homepage to LookMonster.Com/Hp.html instead of index.html, i will post the Pagesetter on banners, and popup windows.
Comparing a TV and a computer are total different. A TV is suposed to change. A computer is suposed to change but not that offten. How many people do you think know how to change their homepage, and just left it the MSN.com? I'm guessing less than %35.
Did you know how to change your homepage the first time you bought a computer? And you gave MSN.Com probaly hundreds if not thousands of searches. I get maybe 500 pageviews a day. This would be total different view if it was an AD for something to sell, but it was meant for the hompage! May I ask what is your homepage?
How much are you making with "Google.Com".

Nathan, if you are STILL changing people's home pages after all we've said, you are a slow learner indeed.

All the oh-so-clever coding tricks in the world are worth little if you don't understand basics like usability and permission marketing. Go back to your books. And maybe take a glance at Miss Manners before you leave the library.

My RATING is getting lower and lower! But I still have something to prove!

Maybe you don't relize I'm in college learning about major is Business! I decided to make this website for a hobbie and hopefully to get an A and a little more understanding abount what I read in text books. I don't like to wait, for my website to get big. It is hard to get searches when No one e-mail me back about partnerships, I don't have money to sink into this! and don't have investors, their is only have one person working on it. So How would I make it, If I don't make money or isn't fun or exciting(When "Webmasters" are Laughing at my homepage or making stupid comments)I think that is not a successfull business, why waste your time? I hope I'm not working at taco bell for the rest of my life! What could I do that is better than setting hompages, because that's fast, cheap and it works for about 10% of the people will use my page. I can get over a quarter of a million searches montly! I have nothing to prove to the "webmasters" or "advertisers" that wont go to my pages, because I really don't need them. But what I do need is kid, middle age men andwoman who don't know how to change the hompage to keep me going.

Haiko,

Can you do this :
If User = Nathan then
Set default.homepage
("http://www.abestweb.com")
End If

Nathan,
Here is a question to ask:
"Do you want people to change your default homepage without you knowing it?"
OR better yet:
"Do you want people to change your affiliate ID without you knowing it? - Not a lot of people know it "

Don't do what you don't want people to do to you.

PS: Even Microsoft got sued when bundling it's Internet Explorer as a default browser, without giving them any other choice.

Is their a better way for a search engine? And I really don't think it is the same, this is for "webmasters" mine is for designed for general people and is a search engine. What is your homepage?

I'm sorry for this post, I know I can be a dick sometimes but "SearchKing" they top it off. Heyder probaly knows.

When a person answers a question with a question ... it is called salesmanship!

We all are here to help!

You may get 250K hits a mo ... but you have to realize that they will NEVER refer anyone to your engine or other site if you set the HP! Also, if XYZ.com is a bigger @ss ... that doesn't justify or make such activity right either!

You have good talent and just need to be guided to make some serious money on this and other online endeavors. No Taco Bell for you ... unless you allow it ... with stupidity (No I am NOT calling you stupid!)

Miles to go before you sleep .... so listen and learn ... you have a good start!

Maybe you don't realize I used to TEACH stuff like that in a college!

And I'd give you an "D" for attitude. And for spelling.

ALL of us here major in business, one way or another. If you find and read the thread about people's affiliate goals for the next year you might learn some humility. The folks on this board know a huge amount about what works and what doesn't, and playing dirty tricks on unsuspecting visitors is NOT the way to succeed in internet marketing or any other game.

Start by setting realistic goals that you can achieve by ethical means, and you might have a chance to build something that would last.

So what is one of the best ways to make it big? I get a nearly a thousands searches but only 10 click? I was think of puting this so %100 of searches are clicks!

"Want to donate but don't have cash or time? Look Monster is donating %5 of click-through profits to the "American Red Cross". So that means click on a search result to help the victoms of September 11, 2001. We we'll never forget!
Look Monster cares"

Don't get mad and think I'm doing this to get rich or to make a profit off of the victoms, Iam also an American and I care too. I know people that are in the army that are scared half to death about going to Pakastain. Any questions, would you click? Need Help?
