I've had a hard time figuring out how to post this question. I know it's easy enough, but can't for the life of me figure it.

I have a simple form with the typical buttons SUBMIT and CLEAR. My client (oh god, please don't even ask!) wants to add a third button to it -- DUCK.

When you push Duck, you get the sound of a duck quacking.

Ok, silly yes, but it's what he wants.

Anyway, I have no problem getting a simple image or rollover image to do that, but when within the bounds of a form field I have no clue! How do I get this darned thing to, when clicked on, call the .wav file and play it NOT open it in media player.

The only thing I can find on form field buttons is submit and clear. I did find one tutorial on making it make a sound, but it tampers with the whole form.

Any clues? Everyone think I'm absolutely nuts now?

    Jill

ps. form in the works is at http://www.clearviewindustrial.com/request.html

Jill, I'm not sure but you may be able to work with this applet!?
    http://codebrain.com/java/codebrainvoice/index.html

Or else you could make an applet with FP that plays the quack when you simple 'mouse over' a button. That way you would have to make the .wav a .au file though.

    Hope that helps!

    Jill,

    INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" VALUE="DUCK" onClick ="self.location.href=('/duck.wav')

add a < in the front and a > at the end

Ok, works. One question though, how do you get it just to play? Right now, media player opens...is that just IE6/XP or is there something I'm still missing?
