    Don't know if it works in Mac and the board won't let me post it even in the Code tags (Haiko???). Look at my content home page http://www.virtuallyignorant.com source code. Change the URL, and image and descripton.

    There must be a favorites code that pulls your title tag and URL on its own, but I only have this code on a few pages, so haven't looked for a better one.

    Haiko, how come the rulz for < *Script* > etc.. apply even in the CODE UBB tag?

    Doesn't work on the Mac - I just tried it. I've never seen a bookmark script that does.

    Thanks Elisabeth. I suppose that just as in NS it just displays the instructions "to bookmark click CTRL+D" or whatever it is, one could add a reminder for Mac surfers.

    So... how do you bookmark in Mac? I mean key strikes.

    thanks.

    Put this in the body tag of your HTML.
    Substitute the "*" with a "<" or ">" respectively.
    <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">*SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"*
    function bookmark(url, description)
    {
    netscape="First push OK and then hit CTRL+D to add a bookmark to this site."

    if (navigator.appName=='Microsoft Internet Explorer')
    {
    window.external.AddFavorite(url, description);
    }
    else if (navigator.appName=='Netscape')
    {
    alert(netscape);
    }
    }
    */SCRIPT*</pre>
    Then add this for a bookmark link:
    <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">*a href="javascript:bookmark('http://www.yoursite.com','Enter site title here');"*Click here to bookmark*/a*</pre>

    I wouldn't know if this works on a Mac, but I don't see a reason why it shouldn't.
