I currently outsource my message board from CGIforme. Recently they have been offline more than online. No updates on the home page and they won't answer the phone. I think I hear that big sucking sound coming...

I went with them at first because of low start-up cost. My host did not support CGI (for what I wanted to pay...) But now, I can spend some money and some time to do a message board right the second time.

I am open to any and all suggestions and would appreciate any ideas.

    Thanx,

    Doc Sawyer

    Hi Doc,

I have used a number of message boards in the past... from the basic Matt's threaded message board through to the Ultimate BBS types... I am assuming you can now run cgi scripts on you server?

More recently - (actually just yesterday) I installed the new IKON board... it's pretty slick or if you like this board the links are below:

    Ulitmate BBS : http://www.infopop.com/
    Ikon Baord: http://www.ikonboard.com/
    Matt's Script Archive: http://www.worldwidemart.com/scripts/

or youcan find a heap of different ones at: The CGI Resource: http://cgi.resourceindex.com/

Try PHP-Nuke They have a forum built in with private messaging and a couple of other bells. It is free but you need php and mysql running on your server.

Cutecast - It is rock-solid on Linux but a bit buggy on Win2K

    Doc Sawyer,

I don't know if you can (or want to) run ASP on your server, but there is a good message board for you in ASP, and the best of all it is FREE. Here it is:
