Can anybody help me here? I am using this script as a bookmark me but what I want to do is use it on quite a few different pages, is there anyway to do this without me having to keep changing the website.com?
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>*SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"*
*!-- Begin
if ((navigator.appName == "Microsoft Internet Explorer") && (parseInt(navigator.appVersion) *= 4)) {

var url="http://www.website.com/";
var title="Computer bargains";

document.write('*A HREF="javascript:window.ext');
document.write('ernal.AddFavorite(url,title);" ');
I had to remove the mouseover bit from here
document.write("'Add our site to your favorites!'; return true ");
document.write('"onMouseOut=" window.status=');
document.write("' '; return true ");
document.write('"*Bookmark us for your */a*');
}
else {
var msg = "Bookmark us for your ";
if(navigator.appName == "Netscape") msg += " (CTRL-D)";
document.write('Bookmark us for your */a*
Netscape: CTRL-D');
}

// End --*
*/script*<HR></BLOCKQUOTE> All > & < have been changed to * so it will showThanks in advance for any help with this

Gordon,

Not sure of your exact Q ... can you elaborate ...

do you want to use it on ....
www.xxxx.com/123.htm AND www.xxxx.com/456.htm and then offer a bookmark on the individual pages?

Yes exactly Haiko. I was thinking of putting the script in the template and hoping it would automaticaly bookmark the different individual pages that use the template. Thus saving me from having to change by hand the url in the script for every page. Can this be done?

BTW only 2 more members now and you have 4500

Gordon, you use Dreamweaver, right? I think if you put it in a template, Dreamweaver will resolve the URL to the file name. I'm not positive however. You might want to look for a Bookmark This Page extension on the DW Exchange at Macromedia. That would be more likely to interact with Dreamweaver's link management than a 3rd party script. Then before you apply it to the whole site, try it on just a couple pages to test it.

Try location.href as in the following example

< SCR IPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript" >
< !--

function addBookmark() {
if (window.external)
external.AddFavorite(location.href)
else
alert("Your browser doesn't support this feature.");
}

// -- >
< /SCR IPT >

Spaces added after < >.

Just in case you are not sure how to call it use:

< FORM >
< INPUT TYPE="button" VALUE="Add" onClick="addBookmark[]" >
< /FORM >

Change square brackets to round ones!

Thanks Gary that is what I am after but is there a way that I could use that code but as a text link rather than a form button?

Yes you are correct I use dreamweaver but for some reason the bookmark extension will not work. I have tried to reload it but it tells me I need dreamweaver 4 :confused: I am sure I had it working before on dreamweaver 3

Add To Faves

OK well no matter what I do the URL isn't going to come out right.

Go to http://www.macromedia.com/exchange/dreamweaver/
Go to Navigation Extensions and download Add To Faves.

Thanks for that info.

You are not going to believe this, all of a sudden, (after trying for about 8 days and it not working) the bookmark extension has decided to work :confused:

I do not know what it was that caused it not to work but hey! I'm happy now I can do what I want to do and hopefully bring in more sales

Thanks to everybody for the help.
