    ok still STUCK arrrrgh!

    I have this now:
    AddType text/html .html
    AddHandler server-parsed .html

For some reason, I needed it before to make something work on my site.

Now I need to add this:
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .html

After I add it, and I try to access my pages using IE, weird things happen, like I get a download popup when I access the pages.

Separately, they work perfectly on different web servers. Please help, this is driving me nuts!

    I believe if you use:

    AddType application/x-httpd-php .html

    You don't need:

    AddType text/html .html
    AddHandler server-parsed .html

Hey Ellen, thanks for the reply. I am so desparate right now. Site is half and half!!!!

Unfortunately, I also used .shtml when I began this site a few years ago.

    I tried this:
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .html
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .shtml

Did not work. I guess I should stop trying and stick with:
    AddType application/x-httpd-php .html

Back to editing some SHTML files to make it work! Argh.

    Here's what I usually do:

If at first I don't succeed:

    Try, Try Again.....

Say " you", to whoever it was who invented the internet,

Pound my fist on the desk, and throw my mouse (I've gone through a few of these so I don't recommend this),

Yell at the kids for making too much noise which caused me to make a mistake somewhere and after looking at the html for 2 hours, checking the server, uploading the page 20 times -- all the while getting a 404 page, I finally realize I gave the page an extention of .sthml. (true story)

Grab a cup of tea, get some sleep and fix the problem tomorrow.

Been there my self. Now that .html & .shtml are parsed like .php, this adds a whole new dimension! hahaha

At least you get to sleep. Unfortunately, I am obsessive + compulsive at time and can't go to sleep till I fix what is bugging me
