Well it's up. REI just came into CJ with what I call suspicious. Why would they move to CJ?

    Program:

    5%, 7 Return Days

There is no contact for an affiliate manager, no email or name.

Does the switch have anything to do with a little different Linkshare Coc?

Why no contact? Don't want to be bothered by affiliates?

I will not be addding them back into my sites. I removed them this week and they are done. They cater to the parasites and not to regular affiliates.

DUMP em or just send traffic for free!

There are a few other offerings through CJ that are parasite free...

    BYE REI.

REI has never had good contact info even at LINKSHARE...
I don't even know why they bother listing their site with anyone.. why waiste the money if they are not going to work with us??

Plus their 5% commission just sucks..

I barely converted with them anyhow, so I guess this is just a wake up call to free up some real estate.

    Hey Folks!

Having done a switch to CJ from LinkShare I can tell you that REI is very restricted in what they can say and do - not by their choice necessarily either.

While I can't vouch for the quality of their offering to affiliates, I can tell you that they have great products and great customer service.

I'll see if I can track someone down there this afternoon and see if they will come on in and participate here.

    They WON'T Come...
I know people who have tried to contact them for years with not one result...

Your right they do have great products and good customer service.. I buy stuff from them here in town. But as far as "online" goes and their relationship with their affiliates... THEY SUCK... and they don't pay enough...

YEP Send them all the e-mails you want but it would SHOCK me to see them in here...

I'd be shocked too if they came hear and posted after the warm welcome everyone is ready to give them.

In theory, REI is still a buyer's club. The member owners use REI to purchase gear in bulk.

I really wouldn't expect a member owned coop to mesh that well with mass affiliate advertising. Affiliates provide some value in bringing in new members, but I doubt we will be seen as a main channel for the company.

Being a buyers club, I hope that they protect their members by taking a strong stance against parasites.

Lots of people get poor receptions before they come here. A good affiliate manager has to be pretty thick-skinned. Coming here will certainly help the perception that affiliates have.

They haven't approved my application yet, either.

I've always done good with them, one of the better converting outdoor merchants for me. Contact info is under Program Controls at LS and the affiliate emails they sent out.

Have to agree somewhat that sometimes receptin to new magagers can be rather crude however, look at a post here

There just comes a time that we can all act as professional as possible, but if we as affiliates keep getting screwed around long by networks, programs, and sometimes the people running them, it's very difficult to not be cynical when they come in trumpeting how great they and their program are.
Being thought of as someone that can be used for their own gain, without so much as a thought that we deserve to be treated honestly and fairly as well in my opinion is why they get the reception they get.

I was going to say, "Okay, don't bother then."

However, I am sure someone will want to hear whatever it is they have to say.
