    OK< I am sure that I am the only one who doesn't know.

    But, I have all these neat fonts and I would like to use them.

    If the viewer doesn't have a font installed on their computer already, do they have to download it? Will something pop-up prompting them to download it? I don't want that. Other than using them in images, what am I supposed to do with these fonts?

    best bet is to make it an image..

    You can use style sheets to define text, but if the computer doesn't have the font, you're basically SOL...

    If you use a WYSIWYG program like Dreamweaver, you can add the fonts to your family..
    (it will look like this:
    <font face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">

    but again, if the computer doesn't have the font, then it won't be what you want ---

    Your best bet is to make it an image, (you can make it a 2 color gif, white/black to keep your file size down)

    If the user doesn't have the font installed on their computer, the font will default to the user's default font which in many cases is Times New Roman.

    Best fonts to use are arial, verdana and helvetica (with helvitica being for Mac Users) as virtually all users have these fonts on their computers.

    If you're intent on using your newly found font, specify the font as "your new font",arial,helvetica,verdana or the order you choose.

    The only way to have the user use your new font if they don't have it on their machine is to give them the option of downloading the font, or, as N-Affiliate states, incorporate the font into an image.
