    After creating automated datafeed update scripts, when I get up in the a.m. my screen is filled with open browser windows. Is there a way in classic ASP to close the window once the script completes?

    To save time, I know there are javascripts and I know there are ways of converting these scripts to a format that runs outside a browser window and I'm sure there are PHP methods of doing it. I'm asking about an ASP method. My scripts run fine except for this detail.

    Thanks,

    Wayne

    <BODY onLoad="winload()">
    <OBJECT ID="WB" WIDTH=0 HEIGHT=0 CLASSID="CLSID:8856F961-340A-11D0-A96B-00C04FD705A2">
    </OBJECT>
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.2">
    <!--
    function winload()
    {
    if(navigator.appName=="Microsoft Internet Explorer")
    {
    var BrowserVerStr =navigator.appVersion;
    parts = BrowserVerStr.split(";");
    var preBrowVer = parts[1]
    var BVNum=parseFloat((preBrowVer.substring(5,preBrowVer.length)))
    if (BVNum >= 5.5)
    {
    WB.ExecWB(45,2)
    }
    else
    {
    window.close()
    }
    }
    }
    //-->
    </SCRIPT>

    Thanks for that. My updates are all through the IE browser so that did the trick once I changed permissions.
