    error in the code...

any link using the m-pr.cfm script must have 3 things...

    1. a merchant ID (it does)
    2. a userID (it does)
    3. a product id ( it doesn't ) needs one in the form of &productID=

With the PSC - some have used the r.cfm script instead... that needs both 1 and 2 from above, but a bannerID (in the form of &b= ) instead of a productID

    Thanks,

I am double posting to make sure nobody misses this:

    Hey all,

Indeed the FIRST time I created my external datafeeds they were set up wrong. They are all working fine now as of a couple of days ago...

I am no longer using m-pr.cfm script with his databased product id's for my inventory, (for my external feeds), but rather am using the r.cfm script with merchant id user id and banner id.

Those that are still getting inactive redirects are probably still using the feeds I put up originally. Download the current scripts and all should be fine.

Here is an example of links I created.

    Jonathon,

Any way of cleaning up the description fields a bit? The way they are now, there's no way I can use them.

    Thanks

    Nature Boy,

I agree with you and will look into it, but I can't say for sure that I will be able to fix/modify it, and so I may have to delete the entire column...

    Not written in stone though...

I'll try and figure out a way to remove the garbage, including that nasty length chart.

    Update, on the description field.

I attempted to add functionality to the shopping cart to add a 2nd (truncated) description field, for the purpose of creating html free text for the feed.

Didn't quite work, but I will try again and/or something else.

It is difficult to overstate how important it is to fix the descriptions in the feed. It looks to unprofessional to have the description chopped off in the middle.

I don't mind if the description has html coding in it -- I can use it, or easily strip it out myself. But a complete description is absolutely critical.

We're getting ready to release a new site based on Krooked Stix, but this is a real show-stopper for us.

Any word on when descriptions will be fixed?

    Hi Tac,

Completely understand you concern, however, with the multitude of merchants, feeds, export systems and what not, its very difficult to set a standard.

I will give you and others an idea that works very well and actually increases click throughs and conversions -

set your description filed to say 250 characters and add - . . . more info

make that into a buy link, the site visitor will get off your site, set the cookie and on to the merchants site, where he can make the sale.

Just a tip that works very, very well....its proven !!

Hope that helps, it doesn't solve the description dilema but its a good work around.

Thanks in advance for your support of my programs.....

I think I have solved the truncated descriptions issue. Worked on it late last night.

Suffice it to say it was a little tricky, but I think I have a workaround.

I will put up revised feeds in an hour or so...
