    Andy,

I rec'd the Vegas email from Szul - because I'm one of their affiliates.

My Szul email had no mention of Szul - it was a plug for ARC - or what I would call SPAM.

I'd appreciate it if you don't abuse my Szul affiliate status as a free chance to promote your own company.

I can't enter your contest because you force me to join merchants that don't apply to my site:

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>You need to be an active affiliate in all the affiliate programs that are sponsors of the sweepstakes. The programs are listed below along with their affiliate program links so you can join their programs if you haven't already done so.

    EasyClickTravel.com - Join now
Irv's Luggage Warehouse / Executive Essentials - Join now
    MagazineAgent.com - Join now
    SurplusComputers.com - Join now
    5DollarSoftware.com - Join now
    Szul.com - Join now
Diethin.com - Join now (program active on 10/5/04)
    PCMicroStore - Join now
    Gamefest.com - Join now
    BettyMills.com - Join now <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Then you force me to give you my phone number, even though I'm not affiliated with Andy Rodriguez Consulting:

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>We will use the name and contact information you submit to verify qualification and program participation on all the programs. Please include email and phone numbers... <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Since you successfully spammed me thru Szul, it appears you know how to contact me without demanding my phone number.

I have to subscribe to YOUR newsletter to qualify?? Again this email came from Szul - not ARC.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>You need to be subscribed to the newsletters of the following sponsors: www.affiliatefairplay.com, www.andyrodriguez.com <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

After I add these merchants that don't fit my site, I have to keep my fingers crossed that 90 people inadvertently click on these links - just to qualify - and one inadvertent click becomes a sale??

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>You need to have generated a minimum of 90 clicks and one affiliate tracked sale during the sweepstakes period <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Again, please keep my SZUL emails related to Szul

    Hi Billy,

    <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by Billy Kay:

Yes, you are. Thank you for supporting our programs. How is the weather in Las Vages this time of year? It must be nice this time of year out there....

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>My Szul email had no mention of Szul - it was a plug for ARC - or what I would call SPAM. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

You Szul email had this on the top:

"You are receiving this email because you are a registered affiliate of Szul.com. Szul.com is one of the affiliate programs that is sponsoring this sweepstakes. We wanted you to be aware of the sweepstakes and give you an opportunity to enter if you wish. As a registered Szul.com Affiliate, you are already one step ahead of the others. Good luck!"

Also, look at the creative, Szul is clearly mentioned, bottom, left side:

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>I'd appreciate it if you don't abuse my Szul affiliate status as a free chance to promote your own company. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

This email approved by Szul.com before it was mailed. Szul is one of the sponsor's that is giving over $600.00 in fine, quality jewelry items. You are an affiliate of Szul. It was not promoting ARC, It was promoting the sweepstakes. My apologies if you thought it was promoting ARC.

    Here are the Szul.com prizes:

Men's Gift - Combined Men's Package contains the following - WITH COMPLIMENTARY/PERSONALIZED ENGRAVING
    http://szul.com/product_details.asp?...ategoryId=2003
    http://szul.com/product_details.asp?...ategoryId=2004
    http://szul.com/product_details.asp?...ategoryId=2005

Her Gift - Choice of her own personalized Diamond Initial Pendant
    http://szul.com/products.asp?CategoryId=1030

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>I can't enter your contest because you force me to join merchants that don't apply to my site <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

I am not forcing you or anyone else to enter anything. Many affiliates have multiple sites, somehave one, some are niche, some are mall sites.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Then you force me to give you my phone number, even though I'm not affiliated with Andy Rodriguez Consulting <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

The phone number is to identify the winner. Affiliates have many sites, many emails associated with their buss on all merchants accounts. The only way to really identify and inform the winner is for us to have a way to use a common denominator to identify you. We choose the phone number, where i can talk to a voice.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>We will use the name and contact information you submit to verify qualification and program participation on all the programs. Please include email and phone numbers... <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Since you successfully spammed me thru Szul, it appears you know how to contact me without demanding my phone number. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

    Read above...

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>I have to subscribe to YOUR newsletter to qualify?? Again this email came from Szul - not ARC. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yup, ARC is one of the sponsors...we are giving away $500.00 for the winner to spend on their trip

ABW is also giving away $500 cash in spending money, you are already here though, one less application for you

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>You need to be subscribed to the newsletters of the following sponsors: http://www.affiliatefairplay.com, http://www.andyrodriguez.com <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Yup, AFP has an awesome "His" and "Hers" massage along with a bottle of champagne for the winner to enjoy at the Hotel's Spa...

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>After I add these merchants that don't fit my site, I have to keep my fingers crossed that 90 people inadvertently click on these links - just to qualify - and one inadvertent click becomes a sale?? - You need to have generated a minimum of 90 clicks and one affiliate tracked sale during the sweepstakes period <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Hmm, i'd say it's a minimum ROI for these merchants and sponsors to get in return for their participation no? The sweeps was designed to increase program participation, increase exposure, increase sales, increase cross promotional activity and most of all to have fun and allow everyone the chance to make money. It is a marketing campaign, that's what we do. We are paid to market and grow affiliate programs. Many have said the idea is "brilliant" , I may be biased, but i would have to agree with them...

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>Again, please keep my SZUL emails related to Szul <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Point taken, I'll make a note and keep you off the Q1 promotion to Orlando Florida !!

Billy, thanks for promoting the program we manage, I know you are in several, we apreciate your support.

I may come down to Vegas for the sweepstakes as well, since you already live there, would love to buy you lunch or dinner...

Perhaps Billy is having the same trouble that I'm having, not sure how to intergrate some of these merchants into existing sites. Not everyone is able to sell everything, but I do applaud the effort of the ARC team and their merchants to inspire us to try.

This post is interesting. As far as I can tell Billy was upset because of the szul email, then went on to slam arc. But isn't Andy (ARC) the affiliate management for szul??

Good luck with your Las Vegas Sweepstakes, I joined as many programs as I could and still think this is brilliant. I lack a place for magazines on my mall but I am trying to think of a way. But to say Andy did something wrong with this sweepstakes, not a chance, I think it should be a competition more than a sweepstakes - but a sweepstakes makes it easier to win, He is the greatest affiliate marketing guru.

I was aware Andy had a "fan club" when I posted my thread.

I posted my thread for the same reason I post all my threads on ABW: I got no response from the AM. In this case, all the am email addresses led to Andy. So Andy, did not respond.

Before I state "unresponsive merchant" on ABW, I go to the merchant's website and contact support. Again, I got no response from the merchant's own customer support staff.

Hec, I even contacted irv at irvsluggage. If there really is an Irv, then even he doesn't respond.

No response from AM. No response from merchant site means I drop them. Which I did. EE, Irv, Szul, et al.

I'm sure Andy's "great" and the merchants he represents are "great", but they didn't work for me and I'm willing to leave it at that.

I am sorry to hear that you have left all of Andy's programs. I find him a terrific AM, and he is really helping our program grow. I know that you were never part of the easyclicktravel affiliate program, so I would like to clarify your statement of contacting "all" Andy's merchants, because I never received such an email. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

All I know is that not too many AM's post their cell phone number on their sites and on all their programs....

If anyone really wanted to get in touch with me, it would be as easy as dialing 10 digits... 305-785-4524, hell it's next to my bed when i go to sleep.

As to Billy, I'll call you on my dime anytime you like to discuss anything you like for any merchant...

    Michael,

I'm pretty sure I didn't state I contacted each and every ARC merchant, but if I did, I meant to say I contacted each and every ARC merchant I was affiliated with at the time. (So I never contacted you and never received no response from you.)
