Spent ages checking out the numerous scripts available nowadays, but can't find one that can display the bestselling general books at Amazon.

We used to use Anaconda's script, but it's pricey. We don't make sufficient revenue from Amazon.com to justify spending the kind of money they ask for.

Is there any script to show general bestsellers that is free or we only have to pay once and includes all forthcoming upgrades?

    Thanks

Have you checked out Mr. Rat's Amazon script? This may do what you want.

    Thank you for responding.

Yes, I've looked at that. The annoying thing is that there are so many scripts which offer the bestselling books in particular categories but they ALL omit general bestsellers!

All options for the script you refer to are here:

I wonder if '1000' for general books will provide overall bestselling books...

I think "input_id=1000" may provide what you are looking for.

Here's a link to those results.

    Azam,

Have you looked at the Cusimano Scripts? They also have a forum HERE --- I Use his scripts and am extremely happy with the functionality and support!

Thank you VERY much for such a prompt response 'etlt'. That is exactly what I was looking for.

    Much appreciated

Sorry, Haiko, but I don't generate many sales via Amazon.com and it is not cost-effective for me to fork out Cusimano's script. I have heard many good things about it, though.

    Thanks.

    Azam,

As the site is entirely spidered .... It doesn't take long to justify the cost of the script!

    Haiko,
I have just launched 3 new sites this month using thie Cusimano scripts. I have also redone one site that I was selling stuff with drop ship fullfillment, but my distributor was constantly out of stock.

Have you had good luck getting Google to spider all the dynamic pages? I am using SSI for the main pages but from there it uses the script. I have seen Googlebot deepcrawl, but only grabbed my .html pages.

Google spiders ALL of mine, and they are ALL dynamic.

A good way to get the spiders to crawl the whole thing is to not have ? in the url - most refuse to do so, including google - I think my site was grandfathered. (maybe it's because it is primarily a forum)

If each and every page generated by Cusimano Scripts was spidered by Google then it might be worth the investment.

However, the site provided as an example at Cusimano has a question mark in the URLs:

    http://www.buy-here-and-save.com/cgi...wse&mode=books

    http://www.buy-here-and-save.com/cgi...browse&mode=10

    So would Google spider them?

Can you provide examples of pages generated by this script being listed in Google?

I think they gave googlebot a stomach transplant: he/she/it likes to gobble up just about anything with text, even dynamic URLs.

Just because a URL is dynamic doesn't mean the content isn't relevant.

I can't point to any specific search terms, but I had one where every result was a dynamic URL.

The real benefit to having all that content spidered is link popularity. Huge help in search engines.
