    Hello team,

Lets jump right in and set this program on fire. I have seen the affiliate stats and i'm scratching my head......

I know who we have on board, who is active and who is not. I also know those of you that haven't joined yet...

    My question is why?

What do you see as the pros and cons of this program?

Why aren't you getting a monthly check from BM?

We have affiliates making over $1,000 per month in commissions and we have some that i know are capable of that - making "zero" - why?

Spell it out, help me, help you. Let's make this a better program for all...

How can i help you get a check every month? Several partners are getting checks over $100.00 this month....where are you and how can i help you?

I'll stick my neck out and guess there's a problem with understanding segmentation (or some other marketing-speak) for this prog.

I've only just done something with the feed at the weekend - and that was to fold it into a central database so it can start to spit out search results.

I guess most of us are mainly B2C and so not as au fait with how BM customers buy via affiliates. I'm certainly not clear how anything other than the smallest businesses (like mine) buy online from affiliate links with a credit card. Are we pitching to janitors, purchasing managers, SSB owners or savvy housewives?

Then there's the janitorial/office split. Two target groups or one? IMHO the big hitters here prob tend to build sites around one merchant as a core strategy, and are most successful when that merchant has a tight theme and identifiable customers. Maybe BM is perceived as too wide?

All this of course is what I'm experiencing, and writing this has been helpful ... I think I know what I need to go do now ...

I fully agree with CrazyGuy. The two product lines seems strange together, and I'm just not sure how well office and/or janitorial supplies will sell online.

    Crazy and MW:

    Bulls eye....

That was on of the points i brought up to BM during our initial assesment of their program. I did manange to get my points accross and we have agreed on segmenting the feeds. It is on the planning board.

I do have several "markets" that I am rolling out and al of you will be a major part of that. You are both correct, this is a unique bird and there lies my challenge. I love challenges though, and i have a plan i am setting into motion...complete with keywords and all.

By a show of hands, how many of you have wordtracker?

Tip #1: enter the major categories from BM and see what you get. There is a major opportunity here - the inexperienced affilaites won't see it right away, but most of you seasoned will. I will help the ones that don't see it yet.

    Happy hunting

Yeah - I'm already wishing I'd kept my big fat mouth shut earlier

I have wordtracker - and I'm not too sure about this trend for AMs to give out keyword lists. (IMO) The whole point about keywords and wordtracker and affiliates is that everyone pitches a little differently - a bunch of people working off the same list negates it's value for all and becomes SE spammy.

My own personal "why" is because I was not able to finish my site before moving -- only made it "gold" in the past two weeks (therefore not picked up by google yet, etc)..

You WILL be seeing me on the radar soon, though.

I hope you also retain the "everything-in-there" big datafeed, also.

It saves me time compared to getting the info in separate feeds.

Andy, From my perspective as a new affiliate, I'm dreading the new datafeed in January. I hope you guys keep some consistency in category and products names.

It takes 3 to 4 months to build a well ranked site and changing certain critical terms can destroy those positions quickly.

Yes Yes, I agree. Same for the pictures. Now I have many missing pictures because they are renamed.
