I got an email tonight at 7:50 PM from Best Buy at BeFree asking that I remove all their links from my web sites tomorrow. I would not mind doing so, but I have other things to do tonight and don't have the time to do this tomorrow morning. They've had day, even weeks to think about this and could have had the courtesy to give us just a bit more notice. Here is a portion of the email they sent me:
As the one year anniversary of one of the most tragic days in American History approaches, we would like to request that you remove all Best Buy advertising from your site on Wednesday, September 11th.
We have discussed this in depth with key partners in the advertising industry and they have made the recommendation to pull all ads, especially from content sites. They have also stated that running ads may cause negative comments to be
directed at both the publisher and the advertiser.
Well, they just got some negative comments from me hear at ABW directed to them for not being considerate to us.
