FYI,

The nightly jobs that summarize the daily traffic and sales data are delayed this morning. It will likely take until after noon ET to complete.

The jobs are catching up now, so you may see info for some of your merchants before others.

And of course, tracking is not affected.

I'll post another message when it is complete.

Lol, hey, this is not a criticism at all, but someday, when I am old and decrepit, spending my last days babbling in a nursing home, my great great grand children are going to wonder what on earth I mean when I mumble, 'tracking is not affected.' lololol!

Yeah, sometimes I wake up at night screaming "tracking is affected!" and I realize it's only a nightmare.

I need a new career. Maybe I'll become a full-time affiliate.

They seem to be up and compete now. Unless you have more to put in my account. If that is the case, process away.

Well, you didn't process enough orders into my account. Try it again and get it right this time

By the way, what's up with BF and datafeeds for TD taking so long?

Yeah, well there weren't enough clicks. Putting more orders in would have looked suspicious.

>>By the way, what's up with BF and datafeeds for TD taking so long? <<

I know they're up to their eyeballs with data feed setups. I'll check on the TD ones.

<<

There were delayed a little, but they're finished now, as of 9:00 ET or so.

This is the reason we have the maintenance window tomorrow, to try to reconfigure some hardware to speed things up. Hopefully things will start wrapping up earlier again on Sunday. We'll see.

Yeah, they may be.

As you've seen things have been delayed a bit the past few days.

I don't have specific status for today, but as I mentioned earlier, we're doing some hardware work tonight.

Hopefully that will take care of it. Tomorrow morning's may be delayed because of the downtime. I'll have an update on Monday.

They can't be Scott...5500 clicks to one merchant from the 1st to the 18th and no sales

This program was showing great promise until they starting upgrading their site, since then it's fallen in a heap.
I've emailed them again, unless I hear soon, I have no choice but to pull them.

You know, that might not be a bad idea. Instead of giving the BeFree workers an xMas bonus, they should just give them a free web account, and have them make their bonus off ads.

Then you will suddenly find yourself wanting to scream and say abusive things about parasites and dupers. You would find out how truly frustrating it is to figure out which programs are promising and which are just exercises in free corporate branding.

This is a different issue, mousejockey. Sounds to me that you're talking about Bluefly? I'll check tomorrow to see where they're at with reporting their sales.

@yintercept: I do eat my own cooking.

BTW, it seems that today's reports are up-to-date as of 6:30 ET. I'll check tomorrow to make sure this will be the norm again.

I have had a look at Bluefly site and tried to make an test purchase. However, their shopping cart did not work. I tried adding 2 items to my shpping cart and still my cart was empty. Maybe this could be the source of the problem?

This could be the source of our problems...
and I really don't recall it being there before the upgrade...but before you get to the checkout you have to pass ads to 'Telephone Your Order' and the security certificate alert pops up to say the names aren't the same, perhaps further encouraging you to telephone your order.

Then if your determined to purchase, before you get get to the checkout you have to create
an account/sign-up with your email and password.

Mmmmmm....you know,by the time I'd get that far, I'd be telephoning too!

Scott,

Did you get a chance to check on the TD datafeed? Is there any idea of a date?

Thanks,

Mousejockey has nailed it!

This diversion tactic, throughout the checkout process, scaring or imposing security alerts popups to call in orders to a minimum wage call center operator is common with many major brand merchants. Dell uses the same tactic for years, since most affiliates and all networks never seem to bother with performing test purchases. I'm sure the rolodex of the call center operators includes most all merchants on the parasite lists. Even small niche' guys like BonsaiBoys of NY have managed to divert 80% of their sales this year to a call center affiliate and a gift list service.

Some call centers wave the flat rate per order fee to go after their own affiliate ID# commission with some high conversion merchants. Basically a parasite without any software. Neat scheme!
