Here's my list of merchants that have converted poorly after 100 clicks: FYI. Feel free to add merchants to the list.

BabyCenter
ebates.com (Of Course LOL)
EMusic.com
PETsMART.com
VistaPrint.com

Actually, Ebates converts very well. Just not in the legit ways one would expect. Kind of like a reverse affiliate program. You sign up with them and they take your commissions!

eMusic doesn't have a high EPC, but I've gotten conversions. VistaPrint converts on occasion, it's just that there are so many people pushing it that I think the market is a bit thin.

PETsMART passed my 100 click mark without a sale. I don't think 100 hits is a conclusive test.

Actually those merchants above didn't have a sale after 300 clicks. except E-music which had 181 clicks and not one transaction.

fogdog
maidenform
proflowers (used to be best flower program)

reporting.net has come a long ways this year.

Petsmart is the best pet affilitate program that I've tried, but only by default.

What about this one;

Gap - clickthroughs - 1,045 Sales - 1 Commission - $1.88

Others are following suit.
Such as;

Eddie Bauer
Old Navy

Petsmart isn't bad, one sale per 72 clicks with an EPC of $2.65 for me. They pay on time too.

Why would you even promote ebates? Maybe there is your problem.. partnered with too much scum which now own your visitors.

I know that Ebates have a terrible reputation, and I would never think of promoting them on my website. However, it is due to Ebates that I am in the affiliate business. I wanted a pair of shoes, and found Ebates, and I thought to myself, if they can make money, then so can I. The rest, as they say, is history. I am now making some money

So, are you saying you're in the ParasiteWare business yourself?

In another thread, you also mentioned having all your affiliate pages listed at DMOZ...my my

I just got this from Emusic:

Dear EMusic Affiliate,

To improve the level of support and effectiveness of our Affiliate Program,
EMusic has been actively eliminating inactive affiliate accounts. Your account
has been identified as either idle or inactive and will be included in our
streamlining operation. You will start to see the following changes take
place over the next few days:

-Your account will be disabled from the EMusic Affiliate Program. You will
not be able to access www.reporting.net to generate new links or reports.

-All affiliate text and graphic links to EMusic will continue to work. However,
we will no longer be tracking referrals or paying bounties on these referrals.

If you wish to reapply to become an EMusic affiliate, please go through the
application process located here:
http://www.emusic.com/affiliate/index.html

Please make sure to include the following when applying for reinstatement.

- Website URL where your affiliate links will be residing
- Address
- Federal Tax ID number (for corporations) or Social Security number (for
individuals)
- How many page views does your site receive each month?
- How many impressions does your site receive each month?

Applications without Federal Tax ID or Social Security numbers will NOT be
considered.

We apologize for any confusion this may cause. We never enjoy taking actions
that could affect our loyal EMusic supporters. Our goal is to continue to
improve the value and efficiency of our Affiliate Program. Such streamlining
activities are necessary to offer the best possible affiliate experience.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best Regards,

The EMusic Affiliate Team

My Reply:

emusic,

"Your account has been identified as either idle or inactive and will be included in our streamlining operation." BULLSH*T!!!!

I dropped your links from my site and also thank you for dropping me as an affiliate. I'm ending my affiliation with emusic and all other merchants supporting parasites like ebates and WhenU.com anyway.

It would have been polite to send the mail before disabling the links. I admit, I had a small number of hits--they were still in a trial period. Since they had less than a dollar EPC so far, I wasn't actively promoting them. Having to pull the ads is a bit of a hassle.

I should know by now not to bother with any BeFree merchants.

How can you go from what I said to thinking that I am in the parasiteware business myself? What has DMOZ got to do with it as well?

I'm also getting very concerned about the gap conversions. 100's of click thru's and not one sale this month -- was a very poor January as well.

Others I'm seeing poor results with:

Diamond.com
Ashford
Boscov's
World of Watches
Smart Bargains
HSN
Yankee Candle

Many of those are probably due to cookie duration.

Getting ready to entirely pull Diamond.com & World of Watches.

Did well with Ashford, Boscov's, Yankee & HSN during Xmas so those could be due to the economy.

With my best,

Liz

I am having excellent conversions from Boscov's. I have had 26 sales this month alone

I find it to be easier to list the BeFree merchants that do well for me:

TigerDirect
OneTravel
eHealthinsurance
