As I looked over our records I saw that Gamestop.com never paid us for sales made back in the beginning of 2002!!! They simple denied the entire payment.
I contacted BeFree about it. They replied and said that Gamestop.com told them that they reversed our sales and sales of "OTHER" affiliates because they didn't see any traffic during that time comming from our or "other" sites.
Well, I ran a report, and sure enough the traffic record was still there and it shows that there WAS traffic from our site and a lot of it. I sent back a copy of my reports to BeFree. Then, gamestop.com finally admitted that they us some money but now they're claiming that they only owe us HALF of what showed up in BeFree. BeFree is still looking into this, but for now guys better look over your reports if these guys ever paid you and how much.

    Watch out!!!

I dropped them like a rock when I found out all the affiliate links resulted in purposely blocking the browser "back" button. We call those "mouse traps" and are first sign the merchant isn't playing by the rules.

This is a very disturbing post as it shows a distinct pattern that I tried months ago to warn the ABWers about. I might get razed for keeping links up or even placing these merchants I'm watching on my high traffic pages. As Scott pointed out BeFree has tried to encourage merchants to adopt monthly payouts and 25.00 minimums. Some respond, hoping to lure new affiliates to their programs, with what looks like pro-active affiliate changes of heart.

Here are 2 examples where the lowering to 25.00 mimimums seem to trigger covert AM action to make sure the new minimum isn't exceeded by hidden reversals -low cookie return days -deleted sales from batched reports and migration to relying on parasites. These two I have carefully watched for quite a while when I noticed my commission was strangely stuck on $24.88 for month's on end.

Bump to the top as I'm still waiting for a check from May of 2002. Yes, this is no joke. They are just not paying.

BeFree is already looking into it close to 3 months.
