Since we seem to have a lot of members from my neck of the woods, it might be useful to see where everyone is from!

I happen to live in Bedford, by accident almost. It's kind of handy though, because according to a programme on Channel 4 last night, it's going to be the only place to survive the apocalyse. Which is nice.

Lets see.. I can count two members from Herts. Anyone else?

Hertfordshire at the moment - but Cornwall in a few months!

Just need to wait on the Post Office confirming they will accept me as a sub-postmaster, then off I go!

OK, I'm down the road in St Albans...

(Why should Bedford survive the apocalypse, by the way...?)

    Bodmin.

Just down the road from Newquay where my son tells me there's plenty of surfing and nothing untoward ever happens...

Bedford gets to survive the apocalypse because the Panacea Society, the guardians of Joanna Southcott's box of prophesies say so. Also, they've planted a protective barrier in a 12 mile radius of the town. Sadly that excludes Luton. Heheh.

They also say that Jesus will be reborn on live in Bedford in Albany Road. Number 18 I think. They've had it redecorated. It's handy for the shops and has an allotment nearby and a secondhand car dealer, which is handy.

    Watford.. that's Dorothy Thornhill territory?

    Well, I did ask....

(Thank you for reminding me why I'm glad I don't have a TV...)

They could have included St Albans in their circle, at least...

I almost went to Wales, until I found that they charge the English £4.50 to cross the bridge, but we let them over for free!

I'm from Sevenoaks, but I live in Chatham, innit. To give you an idea of the intellectual capacity of the average Chatham-ite; they'd never heard of Sevenoaks, despite the fact that it's in the same county and they think my partner is posh even though she's from Barnsley and has a Yorkshire accent. They think I'm posh too, of course, but they're right about that.

    Is that Malibu-on-Trent?

Now Chatham.. yes, well ask a Dutchman about that

Actually, Cornwall is pretty good for broadband access as the government helped set up and fund an ADSL programme down there... however, it's a bloody long way from anywhere. My in-laws live nearly all the way down, it takes an age, usually stuck behind a sodding caravan.

Took me just under 5 hours each way. As that's only double my normal journey up the M25 each day, I consider it a bargain.

Plus - with running a PO, I only need to walk down the stairs each morning...

£10 off the normal monthly rate for ADSL, I understand.

    Tamalyn.. another Essex connection!

Between Beds, Herts and Essex we seem to have a monopoly apart from Gordon, but he's a Canuck now anyway.

Now... I don't mean to be rude about Essex, but I always thought the sovereign ring/XR3i/shiny shirt lad and "Essex Girl" was a piss-take until I started to work for a company with an office in Harlow and discovered that they really exist.

Can't find a man's size 11 white stilleto merchant with an affiliate program, so count me out too!

Uhh.. I have to stay in Essex overnight next week for a "team building exercise". Sooner I get out of there there better. The only team I have to worry about in affiliate marketing is Mrs Dynamoo and the suprisingly large number of teddy bears that appear to live here.
