    Hello folks...

    I hope all is treating you well.

    I am updating my website to a new version and I am inserting ANTI-SCUM code against the major players. What I have noticed is that my site is behaving differently. Now, a REFRESH on a page flashes twice instead of once.

    Try it yourself...
    Old Site
    New Site

    Below are the code snippets that I have included:

    < !-- These tags are to block SCUMWARE on our site -->
    < !-- Code Author: Patrick Crampton -->
    < !-- -->
    < !-- in cooperation with -->
    [style type="text/css"][!-- span {font-size:12px} background {color:red} --][/style]
    [META NAME="MSSmartTagsPreventParsing" content="TRUE"]

    and then a little later

    [SCRIPT language="JavaScript"

    I am not sure if this is related, but my form also messes up now as well, making you RESEND the data, or whatever...

    I am at a loss...anyone else experiencing things like this?

    P.S. On the pasted code above, I swapped out tags for brackets. Thanks.

    Hmm I see what you mean on the contact page, but the solution is simple, just remove the refresh from the page afterwards.

    I think we'd all be really interested to see if this works.. i.e. do you get a better clickthrough rate?

    I have noticed better click-thru rates since using these codes. Sales are up, too. Also, I've resized banners to prevent Gator from showing up.

    I placed WhenU/Scumware notices on pages where I've removed a merchant supporting WhenU and on my site search results pages. Since placing these notices throughout my site, I've been rejected by several merchants that I applied to. Since 1999 I've been rejected by only one merchant out of about 1000. After placing the notices I've been rejected 6 times. OK with me! [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif[/img]

    Personally, I would not use 2 methods to that are used to accomplish the same task. It's one thing to use 2 methods, each doing a different task. IMO it's best to pick one or the other if both do basically the same thing. The CSS method works quite well at keeping TopText from doing it's dirty deed.
