Yes, I've used Ad Aware in the past - found a LOT of crud I didn't really want through it and removed it.

Also, I used Pop-Up Stopper ( www.panicwear.com ) it stops everything except those annoying Geocities ones.

    Hi All!

This is excellent and what timing too! I am preparing my newsletter (which is actually for construction contractors) and I have included an article about all of this in there. This page from Google is excellent in giving info on how to find out more, uninstall, file complaints, etc. It's excellent! Thank you to whoever found it!!

Great program! I tried it this morning and it found all sorts of garbage. My PC is running so much faster.

Unfortunately I am still getting pop-ups on Google.

The best part of googles posting about it? The wired article is based on our original article and wired linked to it. Some other sites have linked directly. http://www.poenews.com/inhouse/vx2.htm

One article and it recived over 180,000 unique visitors in less than 7 days. Much of the traffic has been retained at the site and it made us grow by 10x overnight.

Now to get those people to click and buy... sometimes net savvy traffic is the worst traffic.

Maybe I missed something, or maybe I'm reading too much into it.
Does this mean that google will no longer index pages that contain a popup or popunder ad?

Does this mean Google will not index pages that carry a pop under? I have 2 that have popunders for the merchant that the product pages target.

I'd be interested in the answer to Abigail's question too. Anyone?

Form what I understood of this conversation a while back ago was that is basically telling searchers, that Google itself doesn't have pop ups,

There was a conversation around the time of WhenU.

Searchers were obviously complaining at Google for pop up windows.
