-Mindset International- rings a bell as one of the parasite tools main company and a mass e-mail marketer. Might be TopMoxie or another BHO adware/spywarez plug-in attached to some FREEbee or "incent" reward and gaming sites. If it is very few of those 6 million users even know they have this popup/under software on their system.

Nice touch they also offer their advertisers to get e-mail blasts on one of those prechecked Opt-out lists. You can bet they will spend any takers deposits in a real quick manner bragging on 2 million impressions per day for an advertiser at 1.50 per 1000 impressions on popups/unders. They sure will be happy to add 300 million UCE e-mails to your monthly bill after intial deposit. Some how I'm getting lots of their HTML enhanced e-mails fro my trash bin.

Hurry up and contact them and see if they will pay a nice finders fee for recruiting all those merchants on the Whenu -Buyersport -eBates lists who love mass advertising campaigns. Easy way to check them out is to install their freebee with hidden load and drop a free e-mail throwaway address in their super-special offer box or just see if they show up at the Nov 7th network meeting.

We are in the process of adding script to our pages that will allow us to detect users who come to our site that are infected. What I'm wondering is, with so many new parasiteware distributers out there, how are we ever going to guard against them all?

This has been around a while (over a year). Mindset Interactive are the company behind the NetPal and Transponder (Blackstone, VX2, TPS108) family of spyware. All of these should already be targeted by Spybot, Ad-Aware and Aluria, as well as my own detector.

Their advertising through junk e-mail is new to me though. Though it's not an entirely surprising direction from the responsibility-dodging company.

Anyway, none of there spyware has taking part in affiliate-fee-stealing in the past.

Thanks for all the good info everyone. I am hoping for a better solution soon than the "catch-me-if-you-can" thing we seem to have to be doing for now.
