    I removed Network Essentials before downloadware and Now I can't delete dw.exe...

    No, NetworkEssentials and DownloadWare are independently removable, doesn't matter what order you do things as long as DW doesn't download and install NE again in the meantime!

    DownloadWare should be removable from the Add/Remove Programs function in the Control Panel. If not, you should be able to delete dw.exe after you have stopped it running. Bring up the Task Manager (ctrl-alt-del); on WinNT/2K/XP select the 'Processes' tab; end process 'Dw'.
