I found the following article on spyware with driver downloads of creative labs:

    http://zdnet.com.com/2100-11-530049.html?legacy=zdnn

It seems to be a popup . Could this also be parasiteware?

Yes Creative Labs has placed both spyware and Adware on their install CD's to make some hidden bucks.

Wait a sec, you're saying that on their retail purchased products that are bought outright (vs. shareware downloaded which is bad enough) they've added that crap?

I have a creative labs sound blaster audigy gamer on my desktop PC, and I will never buy another creative labs sound card because of all the spyware and garbage they have on their install CD. It disgusts me that I payed them money to put that stuff on my computer.

I discovered Creative Labs spyware (circa 1998) on my PC when I installed ZoneAlarm. I was not best pleased.

It looks like I'll keep my 5 year old "early adopter" Sound Blaster Live.

I bought one of their webcameras that never worked right. They gave me the run around just enough so that I couldn't return it and get my money back. $104.00 down the drain. I will never buy their products again.
