    Hi All

Maybe it's just my PC...but maybe not... I have IGetNet installed to see how it worked and scope it out...now what was very strange is almost 1 in 5, sometimes more, clicks I made or URLS I entered into the task bar would fail and I'd be redirected to IGetNets search page...very weird especially when we're talking CNN, BBC as well as Mondera, so I uninstalled...and it stopped happening.

So either they have a buggy install that effects the browser ability to connect to sites...or that's one evil piece of software....

    Anyone confirm my results here?

    Cheers

    Chris

I mis-typed a URL and IgetNet came up with a bunch of porn related search results. Considering that it was a mis-typed URL, I don't appreciate porn coming up in their search results. My eldest daughter could easily have mis-typed a URL and than have porn results on the page. If you search for porn, then yes porn results would be what should come up, but is that what they have as a default? Nasty
I got rid of Igetnet pretty quick. Considering that I never even knew it was on the computer until then.

A December 2002 copycat of the Realnames /Common names B-A-HO designed to take over browser bar searches. They are pushing it as a home based business where the MLM type hypsters recruit those stupid enough to purchase someone elses trademark or keywords for some big bucks and hopefully resell it for a profit to the actual copywrite owner. Meanwhile they populate the keywords with porn listings and the wanks at Knoodle -Findwhat or whoever will split fees with them for traffic redirects.

Look for porno, freebee, incent sites to do drive-by installs of the IGN browser plugin to dupe the websurfers into click revenue.

Thanks All, but can anyone actually confirm what I saw. The URL typo certainly redirects but what about correct URLS and clicks as I defined above

    Cheers

    Chris,

In your example ... did you enter the "www."?

The UDDI which helps to resolve typed in addresses as mondera.com (only) is what the program is exploting.

    >...or that's one evil piece of software....

    There's your answer.

I just got an email out of the blue from someone who visited one of my sites:

    ***
"I would just like to drop an email to thank your website, i stumbled upon it
by accident but as a result found that my computer was riddled by parasites
which i have been able to eliminate.

    Again, many thanks,"
    ***

So insert the DoxDesk javascript code on your most visited page, and help us curb the parasite invasion.

My version only takes over on some urls without the WWW I think you've got something else as a wraparound to steal links also
