I think I somehow contracted this parasite somewhere but I don't remember. I've made quite a few amount of purchases (Amazon, Dell, and walmart) and was wondering where they were. Then, recently, my explorer got redirected to slotch.com everytime I boot up. I download cwshredder as I was searching for a way to get rid of this annoying thing. So, it does get rid of some of the stuff. But, now, it always downloads a casino link onto my desktop and I have ads pop up everytime I type in a website. The worst thing is, once I type that website in, it goes straight to their affiliate. I have no clue as to how they did that. I tried to email amazon but when you try to email the company, a error always comes up. Has anyone been affected by this bug? Well, i'm sure a lot of people have as it has a high traffic ranking (268) under alexa. Please help me. I'm getting everything sucked out. =(

Ok, i ran ad-adware. The first time I did it, it didn't come out with anything. Then I ran it again, and it came out with searchit and ncase. Anyone know how to remove these things?

DId you try running Spybot S&D? Slotch.com is the host server of scumware, according to doxdesk.com
    http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ISTbar.html

Not sure who you mean has the high Alexa rating. Slotch, Amazon or cwshredder? Who you suspect installed the casino parasite?

Often several of these parasites are bundled together and successfully removing one doesn't remove them all. You may have to rerun the program you used, try Spybot or look at the doxdesk.com site for more info.

Have you contacted Amazon to report the suspected parasite associate?

Thanks for the link. I was "trying" to contact amazon but somehow that parasite screws up the email form. I've repeatly use amazons email system and when i hit send, it shows up as an error and redirects me to some search page. I'm going to try spy-bot now. I'll keep you guys posted. Thanks again northernstudio

I think I got mostly everything off right now. Those links were very helpful. I also figured out how I got snookered in these parasites. My friend had to download something off kazaa and he said he used kazaa lite k++ and there was no parasites. So, he downloaded something and then immediately removed it. I guess when he agreed to all the terms on kazaa lite, they stuck some parasites on my computer. They were such a hassle to remove. I ran ad-aware, spy bot, and the cwshredder and they all removed something. How strange is that? Well, whatever it was, it sucked over $100 commissions off me cause I made quite a few large purchases. This parasite put extra stuff in my favorites, kept putting casino icons on my desktop everytime i restart, popped up ads everytime i typed in a web address in explorer, redirected my personal links to their referral links, flashed a ton of error prompts, and installed a zillion banner/search programs on my computer. Sometimes, it kept redirecting me to internet-optimizer which was quite annoying. Now, I'm stuck w/ the random ad showing up and I can't figure out how to remove it but it is not as annoying as what i had to go through. Well, I've learned my lesson. Sorry guys, just wanted to rant.
