Clicked thru my affiliate link to do an update for Linens n Things. Noticed this on the same page as the bonus offers/rebates that we're all sending our visitors to:

DealPass $25 Linens'n Things Gift Card Offer
Visit www.dealpass.com/LNTPlus to claim a $25 Linens'n Things Gift Card and use it on your next shopping trip -- and save 10% on any DealPass program!

(listed towards bottom of special offers page at LNT.com)

When you click thru to the DealPass offer and click on online shopping coupons - you go to promocode.com

    Tsk... tsk...tsk

A poor move on LNT's part too who has at least 1000 affiliates who would've loved the same exposure/exclusive deal promoted at LNT.com, but some of us won't stoop to such illegal levels. It's theft - pure and simple.

    With my best,

    Liz

Looks like a breeding ground for a new Top Moxie or inhouse BHO software.

What bothers me is that Promocode.com is run by the COO of Kowabunga, the folks that run "My Affiliate Program."

So if you are an affiliate that runs any programs that use My Affiliate Program, one of your competitors has access to your info.

Once again, Conflict Of Interest has little meaning in Affiliate Marketing.

Promocode.com and dealpass.com are all part of the same gorilla direct marketing firm. Membership Rewards cards, telemarketing ,drop shipping , direct mail, coupon and e-mail marketing ect. They also are affiliates for most major programs so forget those gift certificates paying you a dime.

Mike, they are not part of the same company.
Promocode just cobrands out their coupon site to anyone who will give the money.
They have a few other sites that use their cobrand.

Liz, the dealpass.promocode.com is a subdomain of promocode so it comes back to them. But dealpass just uses the cobranded subdomain.

Got me thinking though. When promocode signs up for affiliate programs, or for that matter for their existing relationships, do they or should they not let the merchants know about their cobrand, and that they are on sites that offer rewards?

Thanks for the info Connie. To my naive eye, it appears they're clearly in bed together, nevermind the fact that they're both out of Omaha.

When you click thru to Linens 'n Things Dealpass page (from original post). Then select a category from DealPass.com's "Savings Center" pull down menu on the far left hand column - all the codes go to dealpass.promocode.com

Does this mean they're still just a subdomain? Why not let Flamingoworld's (more legitimate and trustworthy) savings appear in that "Savings Center" category?

My instincts tell me DealPass still has one former affiliate manager's name written all over it - using a different address in NE (maybe one he moved into after he was married?)

Actually he moved to Michigan when he took the new Kowabunga job.

No connection I don't think. Just the subdomain. There are several of those cobranded promocodes out there. Too bad for those using it. Lots of coupons there under the wrong stores and invalid ones.

Now I see the light I didn't realize you were saying Promocode was the one that was doing the co-branding ... makes sense now. Thanks for the info!
