I will do some major testing with suspicious applications this month I have come across, and also zango(recent information) from Ms B's post. I will be doing some advanced searching and investigating on if these programs are opening with other well known applications. I will be contacting Mrs B, with screenshots and known hijackers(parasiteware, key loggers, etc). I would be investigating applications that have hijacked onto my domain and will report it to the FTC. and will be doing major testing, If you would like to know if your domain is involved, feel free to either send me your URL via PM, If you trust me. and I will see if I can dig anything up. Your URL will not be exposed to anyone else. Only for testing purposes. I also will be making pages, while I'm investigating this issue until I got some serious evidence. I'm doing this because I think this issue has gotten out of control, And I'm tired of hijackers using this criminal method of stealing from others.

    Best regards,

    Jason

Good idea Jason. Maybe you should change your icon to a more aggressive looking puppy. Get a pitbull icon or cutout Mr. Sleuth seeking who's been stealing my cookies and Mall gift commissions.

Well Ms.B you'd think someone who brags for years he has ethics, namely Stephen Messer of Linkshare, would raise unholly hell about WhenU, Gator -180Solutions and your new OUTED BHO ...BargainBuddy.

I actually installed this one while attempting to get another app on my system. It was bundled with what I was attempting to install.

This lovely program is brought to you by the folks at 247RealMedia/Exact Advertising.

I have not done any real formal testing with this one yet. Everything I've seen so far is just by causal observation from my normal surfing and a little bit of digging.

So far what I've seen with BargainBuddy is:

    * There is no obvious way to turn off BB. That is there is no end user interface for the software.
    * You just CAN'T turn to program off!!!! If you End Task the program (and that's assuming the average computer user would know how to do this and which processes to terminate), it will just keep turning itself back on!
    * BB runs 3rd party ads through it's program. I've seen both affiliate and straight advertising being served
    * There is nothing to indicate on the popups being served that the pops are originating from BB. That is, there is nothing on the pops themselves to let the end user know who is behind the popups. More advanced methods the average end user would not know have to be used to see that BB is behind the popups.
    * So far I have seen both BF and LS cookies being auto set through the popups
    * Several of the merchants who participate here are in BB's crosshairs for potential ad popups
    * Affiliate Networks and other ad companies are in BB's crosshairs for potential popups
    * Some affiliate site's are in their crosshairs for potential popups.
    * Will hijack auto search return and serve exact search listings.

Just with very causal observation of this software in action, it is obvious that they are NOT in compliance with the COC/Addendum that the Networks have on paper. But then, I wouldn't necessarily expect to see any enforcement in that regard.

I'll have more details once I've set up and performed formal testing of it?

Seems these wanks want to start a war with me and Charlie. Well the following are being investigated and forwarded to the Cybercrime units in NY -FLA. and Michigan who I've donated affiliate enabled shopping front sites to over the last 2 years. They love to investigate the backgrounds and underlying money structures of the Cyberthieves.

If they hate the heat from ABWers they aught to love getting roasted by the Feds and DA cybercrime snoops.
