OH I'm installed spyware nuker and tested to make sure it was for my customers expectations. Well I found out that the stinking so called anti spyware program installed a trojan and adware on my pc. and the un-installation file doesn't work. all the files are hidden I think in the folder, Does anyone know how I can remove this program? Well I dropped them and I'm going to write a letter to the FTC on this program. If this program does any damage to my computer in the next 2 months I'm going to send a bill to them for the cost of the computer and a extra fine for damaging my business. Not a happy camper today!

It was only a matter of time Jason before those slimy b*stard parasites started to push their programs dressed up as anti-spyware programs. (don't forget you wanted their program in the first place) It would not surprise me one little bit to find out ebates whenu claria or one of the bigger ones are behind something like this
One day parasites and their ilk will be made illegal, I bet a few Lawyers will be pissed off when the day comes.

FTC actually filed suit against a company who was doing the msmessenger exploit thing and then serving ads through that for their pop blocker software. FTC used some very strong language against them in the charges.

Unfortunately there are quite a few ad blocker/spyware removal programs out there that are backed by adware companies. It's all about money.

Well Mr. Manual Coats and his gang of BHO commission thieves deserves as much ABWer pressure as possible. They all have been push browser Ad Whore spam for years reaching the status of GODs by the amazed network wanks. The cybercrime units and the FTC are getting real pissed that the Ad Whore industry condones these type of scumbags.

Now on to Lion's Pride latest release, NoPop! which is even worse than Spyware Nuker. It's offered at Blazing Logic (www.nopop.net) and according to a quote on their site

"Blazing Logic is a division of Lions Pride Enterprises, Inc." and they'll shove anything they want up your systems butt based upon their 6 pages of fine print TOS.

All these spoofs of popup blockers and adware/spyware pose as freeware or shareware and the con is your have to pay them 25-30 dollars to remove the detected files. Fat cahnce if your duped into payment getting their crap removed as their ebiz plan is Ad revenue and stuffing more spyware/adware into their trojan horse backdoor for pimping fees.

Quote from this Ad-nausium wank posing as a human... ""In pursuit of developing the perfect Internet user experience, LPE proudly presents NoPOP!, the anti-pop ad software. No Pop! is the first of three Internet aids designed to give power and freedom back to the Internet user." ....John Ford -Media Director -Trek8.com.

"retails for $19.95, $29.95, or $49.90 contingent upon which package your user purchases" ...WE HAVE AN AFFILIATE PROGRAM!!!

And from the http://trekblue.com web site:

    SpamNuker

"Coming soon from the makers of SpywareNuker, SpamNuker is the definitive application for clearing your mailbox of unwanted email marketing. Enjoy emailing friends, relatives and others Spam-free!"

This one might be just the right recommendation for us to give to our shoppers if we notify them to NOT block CJ -BeFree -Linkshare -Performics -SAS cookies. Maybe the authors might remove those affiliate network cookies from their lists so we can push them.

SpywareBlaster 3.1 ..Prevent spyware from installing in the first place!
Spyware, adware, browser hijackers, and dialers are some of the fastest-growing threats on the Internet today. By simply browsing to a web page, you could find your computer to be the brand-new host of one of these unwanted Ad Whore fiends!

The most important step you can take is to secure your system. And SpywareBlaster is the most powerful protection program available. Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests. Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox. Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

SpywareBlaster can help keep your system spyware-free and secure, without interfering with the "good side" of the web.And unlike other programs, SpywareBlaster does not have to remain running in the background. SpywareBlaster is freeware for personal and educational use.

THere are several "removal" programs that actually install spyware/adware. I guess this is one of them.

Ah. Blue Haven Media - they're the ones that were paying people 6 cents per download for their "aquarium screensaver" IIRC.

I just can't figure this one out. Why would someone pay to have a stupid screensaver downloaded?

I won't say I told you so - ok yes I will. There is probably an already big list of parasitic programs on the market like this that no one is looking at much less even considering.

To be positive though, I'll add that it's definately not something affiliates should spend any time being concerned about though.

    >Why would someone pay to have a stupid screensaver downloaded?

Because it wasn't a screensaver being downloaded. It was a downloader, which would then download the screensaver and anything else they wanted to put on the poor victim's computer.

KaZooM is a one-step technology that increases the power of popular P2P applications like KaZaA and Grokster by streamlining the download process while greatly improving the locating of files sought by users.

"KaZooM's popularity further reinforces the idea that P2P file sharing is a viable business," said James Leasure, President of Blue Haven Media's parent company, Trek8, LLC. "Generating more than 8,000 downloads per day speaks volumes for KaZooM's ability to provide users with a tool that does what it promises, to simplify and refine the use of P2P file sharing programs," concludes Leasure.

Users can download KaZooM free of charge at Blue Haven Media's website - www.bluehavenmedia.com and will soon be able to download another version of KaZooM, making it compatible with most Gnutella clients (arguably the second most popular P2P network in the world).
