    Trust:

We've talked about that here, especially since we are so regionally focused. I think it's a great idea if ou have a driver who covers a broad geographic area on a regular basis. I personally applied to a couple of these but never got a response. Guess my lemon Beetle isn't high-profile enought.

I've seen a few sites like that one. I'm not sure I trust a site that tells me that I'll get paid to drive a free car, once I pay the low start-up fee, but I do think it would be fun to use my own car as advertising. Anyone know what kind of costs are involved in getting a car wrapped?

Privacy info and e-mail scraping front end for some shady operators is the game plan for this category.

We had this in Holland as well.

It turned out to be a marketing company the was experimenting with how far people would go to get some for free.
They asked all kinds of questions about where you live, work, sport, your income, what you buy etc...
1000's of people told them everything they wanted to know, wich they normally never would do, but for a free car they did.
Afterwards the company promised never to use the aquired data, yeah right...

    I'm doing it

I've been told it's about $4,000 for a standard car wrap- most large cities have somewhere that will do it now.

Discovering an entirely new place to put Ads is an ongoing effort by the Ad industry. From Laser Ad displays on the smog bank over Downtown LA to bedroom ceiling trick mirrors displaying subliminal messages to open all Viagra spamms have been tried.

The DMA is rushing to pin point sick "compulsive shoppers" hoping to buy them eyeglasses and sunglasses that bombard them with "goota get it now" messages with GPS store locators. Face it folks ...if it's free ...it's an Ad with a hook to land a fish.

I think SandraR will get a call today from some Ad wank asking if she'd agree to some carefully placed stiches that will form the anal boosted water spray into a Taco Bell Logo.... Coming to a waterWorld park near you

The concept may be a good idea, but is being an affilliate of a program that doesn't actually offer this service a good one?

From what I've read, getting a "free car" is not impossible, but extremely difficult to the point of being unlikely for most people. Taking a small cut of the fee charged by websites that do little more than sell you a short list of actual companies that do a limited number of "car wraps" doesn't appeal to me.

It would be interesting in knowing how many of those who have paid $29.95 for the list actually
are driving wrapped cars or have taken advantage of the 90 day money back guarantee. The website noted above doesn't seem to offer these figures.

Yeah, that's part of what I love about it!! Possibilities are limitless!

Although *that* sounds like bad branding... Company Name = Smog! Hmm..well, I could see *one* message working well with that placement after all: "Too much SMOG? Contract with EcoHelp for bluer skies! 1-800-ECO-HELP"

The problem I have with the site in this thread is that it's only offering a directory of companies that MAY give a free wrapped car. That reminds me of the "work at home directories" I've seen around--if there actually are legit listings (legitimacy varies), they get so bombed in apps from people who have the directory that the "opportunities" are usually long gone.

The actual wrapped car would be great! I'd wrap my own car with huge ads for my domains, but the only ones who'd see it would be the neighbors--I'm usually sitting in here typing or playing games and the poor lonely car waits for me outside...and waits...and waits...

Hmmm, I thought I was the only one who's car is lonely
