BargainBuddy has their own cashback program CashBack by BargainBuddy (cashbackbuddy.com)

Clicking the sign up button immediately starts a download of their CashBack software (I have not downloaded it yet as I am in the middle of something else with their regular BB software). It doesn't even take you off the home page to a registration page first.

BB is a piece of software I personally rate up there with the likes of n-case. But even worse. As I've posted preveiously regarding them, they target specific competing affiliate sites, many of them ABW members here. You can also not turn their software off. If you have End Tasked their software, as soon as you open a new browser window it turns itself back on (video provided in another previous thread).

It also appears that BB is marketing this cashback software to other charities. I suppose along the lines of what buyersport does. So the basic software may show up through other web sites also. ::sigh::

The merchant list for CashBackBuddy is http://www.cashbackbuddy.com/merchants.php

Since I see a few merchants from here who take a strong stance against these kinds of apps, you may want to check your ID with them to see what name they may have signed up under.

Possible names merchants need to possibly watch for is CashBackBuddy, BargainBuddy, DealBandit, Exact Advertising, 24/7RealMedia. All may be possibilites. Could be more too I suppose. All of the above are operating names for the same group of people and except for cashbackbuddy I've seen all names comes through in relation to their traditional bargainbuddy software.

    Happy HouseCleaning!!!!!!

And a question to all the networks.

Did Exact Advertising present this particular piece of software to you for compliance testing and have you tested it and deemed it to be compliant?

    Hi B,

I reported awhile back that Clickxchange is actually promoting this program for unknowing affiliates to spread around.

Someone with contacts there should try to get them to drop BB.

Thanks Ms.B and Cditty for letting us know about this new BHO. I'm getting really tired of the BHO's applying under different names and appreciate the diligence of ABW members who help keep our program parasite free. When this happens we report them to CJ's compliance team and bring up the problem with our CJ account reps. I can't promise this will bring about a revolutionary change in CJ's policy but it can't hurt.

This publisher has been set to expire and notified that they need to take down our links on all of their websites.

    Regards,

    Bryan

@Linda: I missed that post. Looks like they are running their own in-house aff program also.

@Bryan: Since you are taking care of it, I won't hold it against you that these guys made it in but awhile back my application to BCS was rejected.

BTW, you got the wrong Linda there. Don't want to get Mr. Ditty in trouble.

Ms B..... maybe it was that statement on your site that says - "I will seek out and attempt to kill all parasites I find infringing on my turf".

Maybe you should take that off as it's likely to offend more than just Bryan and probably most of your customers too.

My bad. Bryan wasn't the one confused, it was me. The other Linda did assist him. My apologies to all the Lindas, Chris', and Bryans. Covering my bases so I don't miss anyone.
