Hi all, your friendly lurker here. I ran into this site because someone I attend school with online is peppering his email with icons that link to these guys - is it a parasite? Sure looks/acts/smells like one.....

The best part is where they advise webmasters that 'some spyware services may mistake Fun Web Products and its MyWebSearch Toolbar for "Spyware"'.

Stay away! I checked out the site after reading your post. My sensitive laptop touchpad, accidentally clicked on a banner which popped up an installation window of some sort. I closed it immediately and a second later my virus checker detects a trojan horse in my IE temp folder.

That's what I was afraid of.. sigh. This guy is peppering his school emails with this stuff (weird smilies, complete with some sort of affiliate id attached) and I worry that my classmates are getting infected. Yuk.

These a**holes are netorious drive-by and bundling BHO and spyware infestation experts. 100% a freebee infestation point for any and all adware/spyware operators. Removal instaructions http://www.funwebproducts.com/uninstall.html only apply to their own infestation not the others they install through their trojan horse computer virus backdoor.

    Parasite TO THE MAX.

Unfortunately, they are advertised far and wide using banner adverts on some very high profile websites who don't know what's going on.

I sometimes see server access logs where someone has a "fun web products" toolbar in their browser.
