I just found that the plantain and dandelions under the fall leaves are absolutely beautiful and succulent. Spring is a long way off. Last chance foraging!

Cooking up a mess right now. Yum!

    SSanf,

Do "plantain and dandelions" taste anything like collard greens?

    I have had dandelion wine

Actually, they do but a bit stronger. If they are too strong for your taste, re-boil them. Pour off the water from the first boiling and boil them a second time.

I chilled mine, added mayonaise and lemon pepper. Very good indeed and quite healthy.

Haven't had the wine, myself but I understand it is made fron the flowers. How is it?

A plantain is like a banana ... but bigger and not as sweet. The only way I like them is fried like potato chips.

I'm sure you could "shag" with one Austin

Plantain looks like yhis. It is found almost everywhere dandylions are. Young tender leaves are tasty and good cooked or in salad.

    Plantain picture.
