5.00pm today waiting for my dh to arrive back from the weekend gigs and my neighbour arrives to tell me to sit down, dh is not hurt but the car is total write-off!

I just can't believe it, he was driving back from the airport only 20 mins from home and a young guy lost control of his car, dh tried to avoid him, but the other car clipped the back and sent him into a 360 degree spin, the young guy then ploughed into another car and sent it screaming into the back of our car.

Peak hour Easter traffic on the highway, our car has been totalled, dh is shaken, thankfully not hurt.

The irony is, he could have driven back from the gigs with the band but chose to fly to get home quicker.

Thank God he's okay, Jada, you were right, sure has been the weekend from hell...
Sure could use a valium thickshake!

Thanks Cedric, just can't believe it's true, guess it will hit home in the morning.
So lucky to be alive, three cars totalled and no-one hurt, just amazing.

WOW!

Whew...never mind the car. They come and go. Blessed Be, everyone is OK!

So sorry about the inconvenience, though. It really sucks to have to do all the necessary bullroar to get things straightened out.

Yes Thank God everyone is okay, and thanks for your thoughts!
We just went to clear our stuff out of the car, the impacts to the back were so hard it buckled the roof!

Lucky dh is a Ford man and loves his "Yank Tanks" a smaller lighter car wouldn't withstand the impact!

Thank God everyone's okay--and for those big cars as well (I love 'em too)!

"Yank Tanks", huh? I'll have to remember that name for the next time someone asks me what I drive!

It sounds like your car was really pounded...hopefully you can get the money out of Mr. Uninsured somehow despite his lack of insurance.

Hey, I know--make him w*rk it off feeding those emus you've got at that awful time of the day!

lol, Yank Tank, I'd have thought you'd heard that one!
He loves them, took me for a test drive in a black Transam convertible a little while ago, he sat behind the wheel grinning from ear to ear and asked me what I thought
...had to tell him it was about as comfortable as sitting in a tin bucket!

The next couple of weeks are going to be a bit stressful, he's been on the phone to his mates in the trade, a scary time for me, you just never know what he'll come home with!

A couple of years ago he came home with a souped up Ford that looked like it was a Mafia Staff car!
Had to admit it was very comfortable, although it was somewhat of a relief when a kangaroo jumped out of the scrub and wiped out the front

Dignan, a Designated Hitter?
If you drive in the outback for any length of time you get used to roo's jumping out of the scrub, can make a real mess of your car when they bounce!

mousejockey - it's a baseball term. I was just making a smart ass comment essentially trying to ask what a dh is.

I see...dear husband, well he is most of/some of the time
But come to think of it, designated hitter
will do, although it wasn't his fault this time
