Last time I did that was under Tokyo Tower. I didn't hit a single skittle and nearly broke my fingers!

But thanks for the thought

I....cheer up!!! I don't think I have ever seen you down before...That inspiration will come back...if not, we'll just have to argue about Middle East Policy or something to get you back into the mood

Thanks. But my inspiration isn't coming back. He said something mean about my site and the money I earned being 'generic numbers' and all sorts of crappy ungrateful stuff.

I should send him, my site, and Strawberrynet to the middle east themselves then drop a f******* big bomb on the lot of them. Just to be sure.

Ariel Sharon is still a tw*t though. If anyone really wants to argue about whether or not this opinion makes me a racist, it might indeed cheer me up

Oh, don't bomb your own site because of some yoyo.

It's much better to make 10x more and then drive by people in some fancy car they cannot ignore. And let them know you're laughing as they go to work, too. Preferably by leaning out your window and yelling "BYE, have a nice day at WORK, HA HA HA!" when they're scraping their windows!

And if it's some idiot on the Net, ignore him. Just let him keep on working for someone else, like always... knowing that he'll retire an old man, too tired to enjoy his freedom--the freedom you have RIGHT NOW!

If it was Strawberrynet itself, make a competing page and trounce all their rankings with it.

If all else fails, call your bank and hear your balance. YOU'LL know those figures aren't "generic"...

<IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/ubb/icons/icon4.gif> Also it helps your bank account a lot if you make 10 more pages (1 or 2 mini sites) for every time some jack*ss says stuff like that. Nothing like an extra K or so to soothe the feelings.

Icicle, sounds like strawberrynet and their $750 sales "can't ship sold out" has got you down...really can't blame you, I'd be pretty down too and quite angry!

Email him back and thank him for the kind critic of your site, I know you could write a wonderfully sarcastic note that would make him feel 2 inches tall

Just to clarify - I've got two seperate issues here. It wasn't Strawberrynet who said mean things about my site.

Leader -

I wish it worked like that for me But I don't care about money - I've tried, but I just don't. And last time I had a car I was a danger to everyone on the road!

Its never been about money. In fact I get more fun out of giving it away than I ever do spending it. Time was when I'd have just got some nice shiny objects and flung them at light speed to smash with a sweet tinkling sound on the wall an inch from some *******s ear. This causes some complaining which I never understand though :/ If I was intending to cause harm, I'd have aimed two inches further in!

And it won't do Strawberrynet any harm to ponder their crimes awhile.

I wish I could console myself with cash and nice new toys but I have everything I want, except inspiration. I'm more of an artist than a businessperson and artists come with artistic temperaments.

I only got into affiliate marketing because I wanted some nice flower pictures to go on a page when I was learning html. When I investigated to see whose picture it was I was planning on thieving, I found that if I signed up I could have as many nice pictures as I wanted and nobody would mind! The check that arrived through to post was a bit of a surprise because I'd long forgotten it was theoretically a commercial endevour.

It became about the challenge then, but I guess I'm not challenged anymore. I put a page up - it sells stuff. The money is not such a big deal as the creative effort that went into it. And now my talents aren't being recognised, the results are 'generic numbers' and then Strawberrynet who I have sold *thousands and thousands for* can't ship a $750 sale because they've sold out.

What they sold out all of it??? I think not.

And if they have, I'm the one got them the sale - I did my bit and they can damn well pay up. No more sales till they do. I'll live, but they'll be wetting themselves. Their sense of timing sucks.

This must be what it means to be an anarchist. No one telling you what to do - *not even the nice fat generic numbers*. I'm having a massive artistic sulk and give not a toss about the money. I'm not about to be dictated to by numbers any more than I am by some boss.

With Strawberynet it'll cost more than my $75 commission to make a point, but I *feel* like making a point. I wish I could get the point across to Mr Inspiration as cheaply. He's not so easily replaced as some cosmetics merchant. I guess he didn't realise how easily my feeling would be hurt - he'll have some lurking taboo about money somewhere in his psyche I expect, and I'm paying the price for it alongside Strawberrynet. He's someone who is far from useless and his contribution to science should be interesting. He's driven even more than me, but I guess he doesn't understand creativity much outside his own profession. Aries Suns are not known for their tact. He was just being thoughtless and everything he said afterwards only made it worse. I know he didn't really mean to hurt my feelings, but he has, and until my temper tantrum is all finished some really quite nice merchant is getting it in the neck.

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. I'm going to Chill and await events.

Well, the fancy new car can also help take the "genericity" away for those who don't share your enthusiasm for your sites.

("Not about the money...not soothed by extra Ks..." [there was an error processing this directive])

As for Sharon.

Or I might just walk away from it. And wash my hands of him.

I've explained it till I'm blue in the face and haven't got an apology yet. I can only hope he's pondering his crimes in a similar fashion to Strawberrynet.

However the stresses I'm under at the moment are incredible. I've nuked half my site and I might start on the general population next. I'm some walking dumping ground for everyone else's negativity, and like, why? If they want their problems solved, which is what I'm good at, why the Hell do they impair my functionality in this way?

I might drop him from a great height, drop Strawberrynet on top of him, and then get round to any other mutha****a wot thinks they're hard enough.

Its like I'm supposed to be some kind of negative energy transformer. Not enough sales?? Icicles yer girl! Not enough tact / money taboo problems - go round and kick Icicle! Thanks and commission optional.

Phthththt! Men!! Can't live with them, can't live without them. A decent guy will apologize when he sees that it's appropriate, but the problem is that they so often simply don't see it. It's a form of tunnel vision, I think. I know of no solutions.

Hey, if you're taking pages down during your massive sulk, can I have them?

If you'll promise to print them out, roll them up and beat some ******* about the head with them, sure..

Its coming out as anger, but its felt as grief. I think its because - yeah most people are limited in their thinking.
Very few ever think of anything that isn't survival related. Except this guy. His only pleasure in life is saying 'no'. I expect.

And as for Strawberrynet - you know how in Star Trek the captain is often in the position of having to set the auto-destruct on the ship? If they weren't capable of doing that they wouldn't be allowed on the bridge.

It wouldn't take much more before I nuke every page I have, plus backups.

Well, that would work (and thank you for the offer) if it was because he was a guy. But its because he's a *prat* of a guy. And guyness, in itself, is one of his more charming qualities. Was, anyway.

My names Austin Powers and im here to rescue you

They moan at me for spending all my time "playing" on the computer but i ignore them. They laugh at the geeky way i earn my pay and i tolerate it. But god help them if they cross that line and interfere with my generic numbers art, with my generic numbers art im buying a new shagpad in a few months with cash but in a few months but they will still be just "normal", going through the motions of the daily grind, achiving enough to pay for their annual weeks holiday at some local resort and nothing more.

let them moan and laugh and mock, even turn their backs, i can live with that but i need my generic numbers.

Oh yeah, i nearly forgot, dont take "sold out" as a negative thing, sold out is a good thing, it means youve single handedly sold their entire stock so start composing your request for a raise! and dont forget to ask them to let you know when they have replenised their stock because: "i am eager to put your links back up" <IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/smilies/browsmiley.gif>
