I have two options I'm considering. Feedback is greatly appreciated.

    1. Buy 100,000 pop-under impressions that show a full-size page with text links catered to a particular niche (ex. credit card, online drugs, etc.). The idea is to have four to five affiliate links with a short sales blip about each one. Maybe a banner or two to catch the surfers attention. Nothing crowded.

    2. Buy the same impressions and have them go directly to the affiliate's webpage.

Which would you do? Thanks in advance.

    3. Set up an adwords account instead.

Don't ever use pop-ups or pop-unders. They just increase the use of adblockers like Norton. Then soon people can't even see a simple banner ad anymore.

    Go for the adwords account.

You can try the pop-unders, but you'll probably just be throwing your money away.

Pop-ups or pop-unders are a waste of time and money, not to mention annoying. Also avoid those companies that promise to send you thousands of visitors for a fee - it's just a big rip-off!! Been there, done that in the good ole days when I didn't know any better. I agree that AdWords is the way to go. At least you should see some results.

I really appreciate all the feedback. I'm glad I can turn this ship around before I head out on open sea. I'm going to explore this "Adwords" epidemic you speak of. Am I correct in assuming that I can use the "content links" provided by the affiliates with "Adwords" and steer traffic to their site?

Thanks again. This site is quickly becoming a lifesaver.

Pop-unders have a low sale turnover rate. I use them for brand recognition only. Just like a billboard out on the road. I did get more people typing in the name of my mall to get to it directly. This was via the search engines as well.
Its only annoying if you get a 5 or more pop-unders at the same time or you got a entry page that doesn't pull. But note that the big newspapers are using them more as well.
