I often find that some carefully chosen music can help my design work (usually dance music)

But when it comes to programming I have to say that I prefer peace, quiet and solitude.

I just finished a coding session, and the headphones helped a lot! Today's coding music was Lou Reed Ecstacy, Jay-Z Chapter One, Jay-Z The Blueprint, Springsteen The Rising and Abril Lavine

I don't think I've ever tried coding with headphones on... maybe I should give it a go.

OK I take that back - I don't wear headphones but I do code sometimes while listening to classical music on the PC.

Stuff that makes me go, "huh?"

I find that eventually I just run out of system resources on Win 98 and have to either reboot or stop listening to music..

..however, the horrifying thought is that I *never* listen to CDs now on my CD player (actually, my wife's CD player. I'm not exactly sure how it works even). - geeky stuff for umm geeks.

Webmistress you should pick up a copy of
JJ Cale 'Stummin' on the porch, a beer in reach" CD and one of those computer chairs that rocks... you can really get a groove going and fly through linking;)
