In my opinion there is nothing to compare to the loss of a child. I don't think I could survive that kind of loss. I try not to think about it ever happening to one of my children and pray all the time that it doesn't.

This morning I had the scare of a lifetime as my normally very active one year old daughter Megan crawling on the floor suddenly stopped, laid her head down and became completely unresponsive and quit breathing.

She began turning a faint bluish color and I began to breath her mouth to mouth. She very quickly began breathing again and slowly regained her normal activeness.

Megan is fine now and it turns out that this was due to the flu and how baby's only breath through their noses when they sleep. If they don't get air they begin to just fade away so to speak.

I'm so thankfull my wife Tina was able to within 20 seconds see the baby and know something was wrong. I would have not noticed anything was wrong myself.

Heyder,

Thank God!

Man that must have been horrendous!

When I was a child I had asthma and only now could understand the fear of a parent; Baseball is 11 and moved here when she was 7 so I've never been there but I feel it!

Heyder,

I can't imagine the fear you experienced in those few moments. Every parent should be trained in basic life support and first aid. It takes less than an hour to learn and can mean the difference of having the joys of a lifetime with your child. I'm so glad to hear that what caused the incident turned out to be something not serious. I'm sure she will be getting lots extra hugs and kisses for awhile now.

Heyder,

I can't even imagine how terrified you and your wife must of been. Having 3 older kids I hope I or anyone else won't have to go through that. Thankfully everything turned out ok. Best wishes to a speedy recovery for the little one and give a big hug for me just because .

God bless the little angel that was sitting on her shoulder - I through an extra big hug across the country to my baby who is 33, after I read your post. There is nothing, nothing more precious than your own baby(ies), in your life.

I'm glad everything turned out for your child and both of you are over the scare. The Lord has a real plan for her and that's why He gave her such watchful parents. May the Angles always watch over your family and make you count your blessings every day. Nothing bad happens in life that someone doesn't whisper a warning in your ear if it effects you or a loved one...the truth. So listen to your soul.

Heyder,
Glad that Megan is doing OK....I can't even imagine what that must be like. I'd also like to commend you guys on being prepared for such a situation. I can only hope that every parent knows what to do when something like that happens. I'd also like to say thanks for the lesson...Heather and I are preparing for the first and it goes to show that you have to expect anything and everything at any time.
I'm glad this turned out the way it did.
