Had a little success last xmas, just tonite was featured and have some nice traffic coming in. I think around the holidays local tv or national is great because:
    1. Free, always good.
    2. Lots of TV around the holidays do segments about online shopping and my coupon/shopping site fit in nicely and the traffic you get is targetted.
    3. People visiting your site might click and buy, bookmark it, pass it along to a friend, link to you if they have a site themselves. Luckily the TV station gave me a straight link to my site so it shows as a backlink and it was linked from a high PR page with one of the keywords i was targetting.

I try to make my site good enough so it will be linked to without any work on my part, but i'm looking at local tv around the holidays for some extra traffic. Just about every show will do a segment on online shopping so i think its a good idea to drop them an email letting them know of your site, if you have a shopping site.

I agree, we had one of our local station do a segment on us about a year and had a nice bump in traffic. Press releases also work for getting media attention.

Haven't made it on any national coverage yet, but hopefully someday!

Got one lined up It's the one that did a story on my site my first year doing this in 2002. It was great except they aired the story on Dec 21, when online shopping is pretty much dead. This time will be 1st week of December. Now gotta work on the other 2 networks

I will be forking over $350.00
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> Tarps, by the way, make lovely gifts. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
    Stats like this
    0.00 0.00 30 843 0 0.00 % 0.00 % $0.00 $0.00 T.A. Rice Co.
    Low Funds

however means there will be no tarps highlighted
