Of course it's possible- not always probable -
The better idea, in my opinion, would be to try for a different venue- lower cost of living-
less than half the price-Link to House

Hey, if you're going to look for homes in the Philadelphia area, please do it on our site. Plenty of huge, overpriced homes available!

I think it's possible. Although it would be nice to have employees to do all the typing it would take!

The property tax on that place must be a killer.

An apartment now, a house probably similar in size to yours in the past when it was appropriate for the family, next up? I dunno all the space I really need is about 6x8' so if times get tight I'll do some insider trading and help Martha decorate cells But seriously, I'd entertain buying a lot and putting up a small log cabin down the road a bit.

Jasonco12 - shooting much little lower, but all from money from the web

I own 3ft out into the lake, and with the lake dropping (lake erie) every year, I will soon have Canadian front property. My home is much, much, much (and many more muchs on) more modest than the one you picked.

I think the top of the line is under $10,000 and is sold by Wal-Mart

Their site doesn't show any distributers outside KY. Wal-mart's down right now (3:13AM Eastern) so I can't check there yet...

Despite the fact that I like the idea of a Big Mansion, having NO MORTGAGE sounds nice, too!

    WARNING - Blatant sales pitch:

If anyone is looking for a place near Resarch Triangle Park (North Carolina), I know of a pretty nice place for sale for just a little over a 10th the cost of Jason's dream house:
    http://www.10w40.com/real_estate/index.html

We built it a couple years before we decided to start taking international assignments. We've been traveling for the past 5 years and are tired of maintaining it. It was custom-built with cat-5 lines to each room and 4 garages for all our cars.
If you know anyone looking for such a place, have them contact the realtor linked from the page.

Nice house. Yes I would love to have one with a lake view - not a beach front, but a restful lake...

Love that NC home in Raleigh. My dream is to get out from under the Bridge and get real wood walls.

That house is way too small. Can anyone say Biltmore Estate?!!! It's just a mild 250 rooms, with an indoor swimming pool, gym and bowling alley. Now, that's my kind of house!
