Hi, this is my first post to ABW after reading and reading for the past few months. Since I'm learning and getting ready to jump into starting an affiliate program, I could use some of all your experienced advice.

I have a special interest DVD video that I will be launching an sales minisite for in the next month. The special interest nature of the topic will make it easy to keyword, in addition there will be extensive offline traditional marketing planned to drive traffic to the site, so I believe conversions will be high.

    My question:
Is it possible to make a single item priced at $19.95 into an effective affiliate site? The payout is low, 5%, so I don't think it will be attractive for affiliates, even though we think it will convert high?

Could such a site be successful as an affiliate program? I'd love to hear any advice you guys might have.

    Thanks,

    Robert Yang

Welcome to the ABW forum rob888,

Well .. have to say $1.00 is not a very appealing recruiting pitch .. but if this product is going to be "high volume" sale movers ... many $1.00's turn to many $$$'s.

As long as your not posting 1-800 #'s, fax orders, etc. there should not be to much trouble getting affiliates if sales prove high convert turnovers.

    Good luck on the launch!

Sure. Heck, some people are willing to promote eBay for NICKELS! ("They add up", those people will say.)

That's not what interests me, though...
