    Ok, let's have some fun!

Name the song and the artist to the lyrics below.

I mixed up some oldies, some country and little bit of just about anything.

    1) Gonna let it rock
    Let it roll
Let the bible belt come down
    And save my soul

    2) He drank his first strong liquor then to calm his shaking hand
And tried to tell himself at last he had become a man

    3)I feel wonderful
Because i see the love light in your eyes

    4) No visible means of support and you have not seen nuthin' yet
    Everything's stuck together
I don't know what you expect starring into the TV set
    Fighting fire with fire

    5) I've listened to preachers
    I've listened to fools
    I've watched all the dropouts
    Who make their own rules

    6) Pink in the mirror on top of the hill,
It's just like swallowin' up a medicine pill.

    7) But put yourself in my position; just try to envision - witnessin your momma poppin prescription pills in the kitchen

    8) She reaches for the pistol
    Kept in the dresser drawer
Tells the lady in the mirror
    He won't do this again

    9) sometimes you wanna start higher
and sometimes you gotta start low

    10) Ride a raft with ol' Huck Finn
Take a nap like Rip Van Winkle

    11) We take all kind of pills, that give us all kind of thrills
But the thrill we've never known,

    12) She's on the council she's on the board
She's a politician she praises the Lord

    GAME ON

    ~Michelle

Those are way too hard! I resisted the urge to cheat and do a google search.

Here is the one I know -
#3. Eric Clapton - Wonderful tonight.

I bet if you put a midi in here it would be easier.

I almost never remember artists. So here's some half-guesses.

    1. Is that Give Me the Beat?

#2 I know it's an old country song, and I used to know all the words, too~! But I'm not so sure which one it is anymore... Let's see, umm, is that, "Don't Take Your Guns to Town"?

#8. That's an exception to the forgotten artists rule! It's The Thunder Rolls by Garth Brooks. One of my favorites!

#10's Mountain Music (or Play Me Some Mountain Music) but I don't remember who did it.

    Ladyboss nailed these 2
#1 is from John Cougar ... Jack & diane.

#11 cover of a rolling stone by doctor hook.

#4 drove me batty cause I knew the lyric but I couldn't figure it out. So I cheated and had to search for it. As such, I won't post the answer but I will say I smacked myself in the head and went D'oh!!

These bring me back, I used to play these three fairly regularly when I used to work in a small club. I used to always get requests for this song after Doctor Hook:
I'll throw in a 10 page views for Gordons Shirt quest in the name of whoever gets it ...

Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain
He was looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook's
Going to get himself a big dish of beef chow mein

A little old lady got mutilated late last night,
    Werewolves of London Again

I thought everybody knew Warren Zevon

    How about this one:

She was married when we first met,
    Soon to be divorced,
I helped her out of a jam I guess,
But I used a little too much force

Oh gosh! I was worried they would be too easy! *LOL*

You guys have gotten numbers 1, 3, 8, 10, & 11 right. You just need the artists name for #2 and you will have that one too.

Here are some hints to help ya along.

The artist from #5 has a new found following of fans.

#6 is a pretty old song.

#7 is a controversial artist. You either hate the person or you don't.

    #9 is a madman

Hint for number 12 - It is a fairly new song.

Some of those songs are older than me, too.

Country radio stations didn't used to care how old a song was--it used to be that if a song was GOOD, they'd play it regardless of its age! So there was a mix ranging from the 60s to the 90s.

Now, around here, they only like to play "new" stuff, regardless of whether it's any good--completely backwards to how it should be.

#6 was easy -- Maybelline (SP?) by Chuck Berry (though that verse was not in my favourite Simon & Garfunkel version!)

Had to go to my kids for help on the others, it's making me feel old!

I just broke down and Googled some of the lyrics too. Number 5 has me kicking myself. I love that song. No idea what happened to my train of thought.

    Great job!

We just need the artist's name for number 2 and the song name and artist for number 5.

    Can I start Round 2?

    1) And I see them in the streets
And I see them in the field
And I hear them shouting under my feet
And I know it's got to be real

    2) Got the clips in the strap as I'm rollin through the hood
What hoods? Compton, Long Beach, Inglewood!

    3) It's gonna take a miracle
to drive a car this color down imperial.

That's all I can think of right now.
