I would also like to know if anyone know's if there's a way that I can buy a calling card and send it to my sister (Philippines) so she can call me without me paying collect calls that will cost me hundreds of $!
Last time I paid over $300 for lest than an hour! that was couple of years ago!
(never again told them to write me) lol...
I appreciate any input! Thanks a bunch.

I don't know much about calling cards but I'm a bit of a bargain hunter so I just did a search on fatwallet and came up with this message thread that has a bunch of international and US calling card info.

All I can say is READ THE FINE PRINT.
There are so many ways to charge you other than the stated cost per min.
Cognigen has a calculator. Read the fine print.

If you have a DSL or Cable internet connection you really should be using Skype. You can phone a normal telephone for less than $0.03/minute. Check out the rates below
I use Skype all the time and the quality is excellent.

Skype is awesome, but watch out for mobile numbers and premium numbers, they can be 4x (or more) the price of landline calls.

BTW, try talking to your long distance company, we locked into a 11c deal to the UK with MCI, it's not the cheapest, but it comes with a calling card so we can call from anywhere, and offers collect calls to our home number in the states for the same rate and no surcharges.

Have you checked on eBay? Many times, that's the cheapest place to find things. Definitely read the fine print.

Listen to Jay, Donna and others! Skype rules! You can call most civilized places around the world for just 3 cents/min and the quality is MUCH better than that of any calling card calls!
