I have learnt the basics of PHP and mySQL - enough to put up a database driven site. However, how do you get the datafeeds like TD into the mySQL database table? Is there an internet resource that can help me here. I don't want to order another book from Amazon as it takes at least a week to arrive here and I want to get started NOW

We had a discussion about this in another thread:

More importantly, if you can, install this:

It's a million times easier (at least) than doing command line mysql, and it has data loading features.

The stuff in the above thread is most helpful when you want to start automating the data input.

If you have any questions, ask them in this thread since it's in the right forum.
