I hope none of you live in Southern California. If you do, my heart goes right out to you. My parents were evacuated last Sunday, but we think everything is going to be all right. Dad just called and everything is covered in ash, but the house is still standing. Thank God!
It's just so hard to focus at work...hmmm.

Hey Carolyn (and others with friends and loved ones in SoCal),
It saddens me to hear about these fires. We had them here over the summer too.
Try and keep busy at work, this sometimes help.

We're based in the West Side of Los Angeles. It's been a pretty dismal few days. If you're not in direct danger of the actual fires, you're wheezing when you go outside. I live close enough to the ocean to catch the breeze and there was still visible smoke settling in our courtyard on Sunday. It's pretty crazy looking, the sky. Anyway, thanks for everyone's concern. Let's hope they get the help they need to take care of this. Send love for the animals that live in those areas, too.

I thought this was the whole point in having Arnie as governor, he'll personally put out the fires single handedly.
Seriously though, it looks frightening.

It is terrible. My daughter is in Escondido surrounded by the San Diego fires. I am in Orange County about an hour away from fires but the smoke is still bad here at times. Some people are wearing face masks. Linda Woods is up in Santa Barbara - 100 miles north of the fires and she even has smoke.
Can't even imaging all the people that live closer that have had smoke for days.
Let's pray no more homes are lost!
