I've indexed the three fields I search by and trimmed the fat off my cj data but I've still got about a 15 second wait time for the pages to start loading.

Space usage : Type Usage
Data 347,950 KB
Index 17,199 KB
Overhead 101,861 KB
Effective 263,288 KB
Total 365,149 KB

Is this to much data for mysql? You can see I've kept my index pretty small so the searches should be fast enough or so I though.

Have you tried using fixed size records? If you use fixed size fields for all records (no VARCHAR), you will get a performance boost, at the cost of some disk space.

Also if you are using phpmyadmin etc try the link optimize table. that overhead is BAAAD, if no phpmyadmin then you should consult the manuel and execute it manually

Hmm well I guess I owe you all a drink. Awesome!

I got rid of the overhead and changed the fields to fixed lengths. Awesome speeds now split second fast.
