The leaves are falling, the nights are longer and it's 98 degress out. Wait 98 degrees. Come on would someone please tell the weather man it's not supposed to be 98 degrees on October 26th.

I sure could use some cool weather. If anyone's got any extra please send this way.

    Thanks!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to turning off the Air Conditioner someday soon...

I just bought my winter jacket, a windbreaker. It's more for the rain than the cold.

Felt kinda wierd shipping for a coat in shorts and a tee.

Aw cry me a river (violin-playing icon here).

Anyway, if I could find a way to ship Michigan weather away you would already be cool. And in 2 weeks you'd be downright shivering!

Tell you what, if you discover how to send me some of that glorious 98 stuff, I'll figure out how to send you some pure undiluted Michigan BBRRRRR in return!

It is getting rather cold here in Vermont. Not looking forward to Winter this year. Brrrr.

98 degrees? You are complaining about 98 degrees in October? It won't be long before it goes down to below zero degrees F here in Vermont

98 degrees again today but the weather man says it will be a high of 60 degrees in 2 days. It looks like I can finally pull out the long sleeve shirts.

My new computer background, I love it -- take it if you want. It’s not a catch, just me normally sharing my favorite graphics as usual

Thanks SandraR. It's quite beautiful. I'd kinda like to see that in person some day.

Come to Vermont, you will see amazing scenes. The trees are awesome this time of year.
I spent all of my life dreaming of coming to the USA to see New England in the Fall. Now I actually live here, right in the most beautiful area for the trees, here in central Vermont. It is rather different than dreary old England. It is weird coming from England and moving to New England
It is amazing how your life can change so dramatically

    cjshoppingnetwork,

Maybe I will work on doing that next year. What would be the best time of year to be most likely to see great colors?

That picture is pretty to look at, but there's another side to consider. I have over 40 very old oak and elm trees on my property. It looks very much like the picture, although Oklahoma is still greener.

The downside is that all those leaves have to be cleaned up! You can't leave them on the ground, as the grass and other plants below will die. They clog up gutters and drains when it rains, and they are slick when wet.

I can't even begin to estimate the amount of time spent to rake/vacuum/sweep and bag those leaves every Fall. And since they don't all come down at the same time, you do this clean up process for several months until they're all gone.

Beautiful to look at, yes. But beauty has its price.

Well summer is finally over. Yesterday it was 100 degrees and today it is 80 degrees and tomorrow's high is supposed to be 59 degrees.

Some kind of record drop in temps.
