Just saw this on the news, can't believe it's legal. Some sites that sell it:

    crazy

Now if they had something where i could disable the vehicles of people driving slowly/under the speed limit in front of me, i would be happy

I need to get a new radar detector, wonder how well this works:

That's the problem. They're meant for emergency vehicles, that's why i can't understand why it's legal to buy it. You could have an emergency vehicle coming from one direction and use it, then somebody else use it about the same time, could cause some major problems, should be illegal IMO. Radar detectors i like

yes this should be Illegal for consumers.

specially in USA where everybody is in a hurry to get to work by 9am, only to hate it after getting there.

should only be used by police and specially ambulance.

The problem is the current system isn't particularly secure. Like guns and drugs, outlawing them never stops the crims from using them. They need to secure the system.

Get youself an EMP Cannon. Pointed at their engine compartment, you can knock out their engine computer, and they roll to a stop with silly looks on their faces.

flashing your high beams used to work on some lights... some people say it still does, but I think they just may have good timing

Not necessarily--if they didn't get off the road before the engine completely died, then you'd be stuck behind a STOPPED car! If it was rush hour, getting past it might not be possible for half an hour!

As for the traffic light changer, making it illegal would cause less of them to be in circulation since some people would stop using them once it was plainly illegal (just like they won't simply run a red light). But like Drewbert said, some sort of system security would be needed to truly eliminate the problem (or limit it to those who could break the security).

Ah, I remembered right, that IS already illegal here. Lights don't do unexpected things here, so I guess either people are obeying the law or simply have never heard of this device so they haven't smuggled any in. As for the cops, fire trucks and ambulances, they just blare their sirens and run the reds instead of trying to change them.

Yep, they're illegal here as well. Even having one in your car (not in use) is against the law. They serve no purpose other than interfering with traffic flow, and they should be illegal in all states.
