Whew..it's 8.30 am here and already hitting 98 degrees and after weeks of this heat and humidity I'm seriously going potty!
Getting up at 4.am to try and squeeze a few hours work in isn't helping either!

I'm kicking myself I didn't get aircon put in when we purchased the place, but I forgot just how hot it gets on the Coast. Now I have to wait until next Thursday for the aircon man..and today is set to break all records with the temp hitting 106

So to all of you with the snow and cold weather...send some over I'd love to feel a cool breeze or rain...anything!

Coolest place in town is the casino...eek..but it could seriously put a dent in my pocket!

Are you close to Melbourne? If you are I hope the weather stays that way for 2 weeks so we can have a nice Formula 1 Race @ Albert Park

    BTW, It's freezing overhere

As much as I hate the snow and the cold I hate high temps and humidty. Am I hard to please? LOL Girl get that AC cranking, I am huffing and a puffing trying to blow some cool air your way but I am getting out of breath now. The casino doesn't sound bad, just go there to eat dinner an cool off a bit. NO cool shopping malls you can browse in? I don't have built in ac in my house but I do have AC units hanging out the bedroom windows in the summer time here. IF you get desperate try a window unit they work well. I can't go without AC the heat and humidty just destroy me. You can always jump in your car and take a long ride if you have AC in it. Last but not least a cold shower? I know I am not much help and I understand how miserable you are feeling right now. Hope it cools off soon for you down there.

    Well that was fun...
And tomorrow is going to be the same!

It's after midnight and still 96degrees.
I've been swimming and had so many showers I'm frizzled. As for driving it is great with the aircon on but there are so many cars on the side of the road overheated, it really is bad.

There are plenty of cool shopping malls here, trouble is everyone from Brisbane is coming down the Coast to get of the heat there, so they're jam-packed.

I keep thinking about Thursday and willing the aircon man to arrive while kicking myself for not arranging it before Summer.

It's so hot here they're feeding chickens crushed ice so they don't lay hard-boiled eggs and the cows are giving condensed milk!

Cazzie - Eat dinner at the casino and cool off lol! I was there for breakfast!
and it was wonderful, like stepping into a fridge and I won $800...guess where I'm going tomorrow
Can't lose now, playing with their money

Javi, Melbourne had it pretty bad a few days ago..trust me, you don't want to be there when it hits 100!

I'm about 2 hours north of Melb Javi, and I can't wait!
I'm only going to be at Albert Park on the Sat to watch qualifying.. Then it's a quick sober up and drive home in time to watch the race in comfort on the TV at home.
I received a copy of the Melb F1GP official programme a few days back and it got me all excited.

    Not long now !

Thanks for the report MJ, looking good then (and sorry for taking the thread off-topic)

I can't wait Pete, I already got my tickets for the Spanish GP in May and I'm trying to convince a few friends to go to the Belgium GP. The problem is they have real jobs.. so it ain't that easy for them (or cheap).

I have always wanted to go to Australia. I want to see the Crocidile Hunter - crikee.

Actually, what I really want to see is a duckbill platypus, a koala bear, and one of them big lizards.

No air conditioning in 98 degrees?! That sucks...

My mother made that mistake building this house. After all, FRIGI-gan isn't exactly known for getting hot! Now it's boiling every summer when it gets into the 90s (although I'll always take that over freezing!). Fans are useless things that only blow the hot air around.

Usually when it gets too hot herem, a movie theater is the place to be...

    Javi and Pete,

    I'm green with envy

F1 is shown live here in the states so most of the races are on TV at about 4am... Fire up the DVR... It's racing season

Hey Guys coming to Melbourne for the race...bring your raincoats

I'm not pointing the bone, but it's a pretty safe bet it'll rain, just like the Gold Coast does for the Indy.

[Leader: Usually when it gets too hot herem, a movie theater is the place to be...]

Decided I'm going to see 'Big Fish' this morning, then have lunch at the Casino and try and whittle down Paris Hilton's inheritence.

This is the hottest it's been since 1925..it would happen before I've had a aircon put in!

We had a British Cruise ship arrive yesterday and none of the Brits wanted to get off the boat lol!

Packy, I had drinkies with Paris yesterday and she was a little hurt you hadn't returned her call

Javi, it's Melbourne, you get 4 seasons in a day...so bring your raincoat 'cos it looks like Ferrari will win
If you want hot and sunny petition them to move the race up to the Gold Coast, I know our city Fathers are haggling for it

    Yeah, no rain.

I'm usually wearing the Ferrari gear, but this year I'll be wearing Team Kimi! They aren't looking so hot this year so I hope they've been sandbagging it in practice. Williams will be strong.

cdc : This, and japan are about the only races that I get to see at a reasonable hour. Over here the races are shown on free to air TV, which means that any European race isn't shown until after the sunday movie so that's usually an 11pm start.
The canadian (in past years) and USGP start at approx 3am monday morning my time. You can bet I'll be up watching them though!

    I love my F1!

    MJ,

I would return her calls if she would just stop buging me to destroy the video we made Coming to a site soon. I figure with me in it, I should still be able to sell it for at least 39 cents a copy. Hell it's a full 4 minutes long

    Packster,

Does the 4 minutes include the credits?

Money was never a big motivation for me, except as a way to keep score. The real excitement is playing the game.

    lol@Swampy

Sadly Radegast, Madam Luck is so fickle, she oftens turns up when least expected and never turns up when most expected...but I didn't blow it all

Hey Oscar, I heard it was pretty bad in Sydney, did you send it all up here!

This morning was the pits but at least there is a breeze now, hope the rains come...real soon!

'Bout time, nearly 30 people have died directly related to the heat, let's hope we've seen the end of it.
