My Web site, http://www.javashelf.com is a bookstore dedicated to Java technology. It features a price comparison engine that I would like to enhance. I currently have:

    Amazon US & UK
    Blackwell US & UK
    Alibris
    Powells

    I would like to include:

Walmart - I have read on the board that there is an access through the Linkshare Marchandiser Program. Experience of other affiliates would be welcome as far as there is a 250$ setup fee.

Barnes & Noble - I am already an affiliate but their support doesn't reply to my emails asking for info. Has anyone had access to data feeds from them?

If you are aware of other bookstores that offer data feeds, the info would be welcome.

    Thank you!

    Bertrand,

BN.com doesn't provide a datafeed through us and I haven't heard of them providing any product datafeeds. For additional info, they're going to have to answer for themselves there, so be persistent.

Not necessarily a bookstore, but Overstock.com just released a huge datafeed of books. The feed itself is over 100MB. Might want to check them out.

If you send me an email (shawn@overstock.com), I'll send you instructions for using our datafeed. Please include your LinkShare username.

Also, it's important to note that there is no cost to you for our datafeed.

    Many thanks,

Thank you, Shawn. That's on the way. I have received the data feed information and Adam Barrett is managing my request to access the "Computers & Internet" sub-section of the books feed.

    Dear Shawn,

I have used the books_computer_gay.csv feed to enhance JavaShelf.com with a new section on books on overstock and I have added an Overstock.com entry in the price comparison engine: http://www.javashelf.com.

If I'm not mistaken, most book price comparison sites don't use datafeeds. They query the merchants in parallel by ISBN and scrape the prices.
